timeanddate says scattered clouds but 0% precipitation Saturday- so hopefully the universe aligns for us to see it!

However, be aware - as this is a solar and not lunar eclipse, a special lens is required to look through- otherwise you will damage your eye!

Not sure about the glasses but welder lens may work. You will need Shade 14. Any lighter would not be safe enough.

Got my welders lens I used years ago I think for the 2017 eclipse.

It’s halfway covered.
But can’t seem to get a good photo through the welding glass

Maximum was at 2:51pm. The moon is moving away slowly now.

Had this problem too. Some blurriness and less of a bite than I see with my eyes.

Partial solar #eclipse spotted from Marabella, South Trinidad at 2:54 PM where nearly 55% of the sun was blocked by the moon.

The photo was taken on a Nikon D90 camera through an x-ray.

took this without a welding glass.

dropped the brightness and contrast on the phone viewer before snapping. 20 mins after 2:51pm though --- them mfking cloud n them

wow pretty rare event to get 100% over Trinidad. I've read that the difference between 99% and 100% moon cover during solar eclipse is completely day vs. night. There are many pictures from 2017 across USA. e.g.
