Solid state cooling for computer chips

Postby Duane 3NE 2NR » January 20th, 2023, 11:52 am

Came across this video of a "chip" that cools other chips - it’s not really solid state as there is a moving membrane but it’s damn compact and seems to be pretty efficient.

Game changer in processing efficiency by about double.
Right now the most powerful CPUs in mobile and laptop designs are limited by self-throttling because of heat.

The AirJet module is actually not placed directly on the processor in ultrabooks but on copper pipes because it allows for thinner designs that way.

Hope this remarkable little technology doesn't cost too much or take too long to implement.

Pretty awesome, and I see it scaling up in the future.
I was trying to think of a way to break through the boundary layer myself, but what I came up with would be bigger and a lot more noisy.

Personally, I thinking they could put a few rows of heat pipes up from the die, and imbed thses in between the rows. Like a passive cooler wirh fins but these would occupy the space between the fins.

okay that's hella cool

Although I wonder what the longevity of this would be

Also , can this apply to forced induction on injin
