Shakes: Do you feel sometimes that you need psychological help just from reporting these statistics? Especially when it involves little children being murdered?

I think after some time, we get used to it tbh. Some are a bit worrying but we just move on after a few days waiting for the next heinous crime to take place

Wasn't a 2 year old murdered late last year? After awhile you become desensitized

When you have a jackarse in a position that his equally jackarsish boss refuses to remove his, and his own tbh non-performing self from, what do you expect?

Exactly, and if they hold anyone, waiting to see what scumbag UNC lawyer will get bail for them.

unc lawyer will always bawl out 'innocent until proven guilty'

and doh forget unc remove the bail bill, so now we cyar just lock up ppl indefinitely without convictions

Under the privy council ruling alleged murders entitled to bail has nothing to do with UNC.....

You realize that's precisely the point right?
And to those uneducated ones talking about scumbag lawyers, wtf don't you all get about the RIGHT to legal representation?
If any of your sorry arses get ah case, allyuh is de same one looking for lawyers.
Anyways, this is prolly your idea of a stellar high profile LFD RFD PNM lawyer
Sunday Express, July 11th 2022
"In all, there are four Piarco cases involving the same accused, with varying charges. Businessman John Henry Smith (now deceased) and Barbara Gomes had sued former chief magistrate (deceased) Sherman McNicolls, the Office of the AG and the Office of the DPP, citing bias. It was on their application that the PC ruled, stating that McNicolls had been “hopelessly compromised” via assistance from Jeremie to get a CLICO company to re-purchase McNicolls’ land."

The tobagonian pnm Chief Justice is responsible for the persons that grant bail. A lawyer cannot grant bail.

While we here contemplating the emotional toll of a six year old girl's brutal killing, the wife and daughters of the National Security Council chairman were getting their hair and make up done in preparation for a night of drinking and gyrating. #Wejamminstill

Emo rum shop attitude. They are not the problem. The entire PNM needs to go. Problem is in a democratic system, there are choices, except in sweet t and t, the two main choices are basically the same racist cults.

wing,

Somewhere along the line i can agree the entire PNM needs to go with the exception of my MP, but the TTPS and justice system have their job to do.

How much more must any Govt do or can do?

The TTPS for e.g have the tools they need….get out there and get the job done.

The issue T&T has is the culture.

Agreed MAX,

The separation of powers leave much to be desired. The judicial system stinks with backlogs up their necks and detection rate of crimes are abysmal.

the govt can certainly do something by choosing a cop who walks the talk and inspires confidence in the ttps and not just hot air

Shakes or Frank, why don't you guys create a Google Sheet with the timestamp, location,.name for each murder.

Would be good for doing some data analysis afterwards
