Cloud of the 2021 Budget Statement.
.. will be interesting to compare it to this year's budget.
See what words pop out this year.

Maybe even make a budget bingo card..

The top ~25 words.. 250+ uses of
"will". Would be interested to see how many came to pass.

Edits: Added histogram.

Predictions:

More green agenda, but reduced imports again.

Probably full push towards EV (tax free on new?)
Return of taxes on hybrids
Reduction of age imports on RORO yet again.
Quotas for RORO
Bump in MVT for regular dino juice cars
Bump in fees (license, transfer tax, etc etc)
Bump in traffic violation/MV penalties
Increase to gas and diesel (10-15% bump maybe)
VAT adjustment back to 15%
Removal of concessions on certain consumer goods (pandemic done right? so laptop/phone/etc might go back to normal rate)
Initial adjustment to water/electricity rate - maybe commercial rates might get a bump first
Vice tax bumps on cigarettes, alcohol, gambling

What for the people?
Maybe a slider on PAYE to flex some more disposable income to deal with those increases.
Prod from his side for negotiations to resume/settle
More HDC housing projects
Possible construction incentives to churn the economy esp for first time homeowners
Food bill concessions

Announcements of Digital Transformation projects that gonna cost $$$ but supposed to save $$$$$$ over time.
Update on Solar park project - maybe new phase?
Infrastructural development - more roads/more overpasses
Property tax like a thief in the night.

With property taxes, if you lose the property, it goes to the state. Then the state uses it for projects and houses. Pnm financiers who own land development companies seem to grt these projects.

Any gas station closed as the budget start? They close to set the new price of gas with immediate effect.
