Billions spent in national security, where are we heading

Postby hover11 » August 6th, 2022, 8:41 pm

UWI MODEL PREDICTS A SPIKE IN MURDERS BY THE END OF 2030.

The frightening levels of crime in this country could be much worse by the end of the decade, according to a new report from the University of the West Indies (UWI). The study done by the Head of UWI’s Criminology Department Dr Randy Seepersad shows that by 2025 the annual murder count will climb to 632 and to 710 by 2030. There were 450 murders last year.

Under the category of wounding and shootings, where 675 incidents were recorded last year, the numbers will rise to 755 by 2025 and 805 by 2030.

Yes, billions have been spent, hundreds of billions over the last few decades actually.
Where are we headed? In a counterclockwise whirlpool down the toilet, same as usual.

Said it once and saying it again.

Crime is a business. While it's an inconvenience to us all it does create a lot of jobs and circulate money.

Without crime think about how much cctv men, welders, burglar proof men, mason, car alarm men, powleece etc and all the places that sell merchandise may not exist. The powleece job is no longer to fight crime, it's to keep the truth under the blanket. It bad....trust me. But is not alien coming here and doing it. It's us.

No, crime not under control and yes we pump a lot of $$$ into it. Can the allocated portion of the budget be decreased, yes. The inefficiency within nat sec can reduce spending and the burden on tax payers pockets but that's the whole of Trinidad when you think about it.

Truth is, nobody really care cuz money spending and money to be made.

This man gets it.

The thing is tho, with some real effort and strategic planning, criminal activity can actually be minimized. But our primary problem is that it pays more people better and takes less effort to let criminal activity run rampant than to put a decisive end to it, and the nimrods that local nitwits have to choose from every election are too stupid and lazy and corrupt to consider getting their thumbs out their own backsides to do something about it.

Onky nothing can exist in a vacuum. So, if we're to eliminate or at least reduce the homicide rate, we need to find something (preferably something less destructive) to engage the people take its place

I can understand why though the judicial system is a complete joke. Reprisal killings are of the result of ppl taking the law into their own hands while judges and magistrates conveniently put off cases while still collecting their full benefits. Another factor is how many murderers are caught and brought before the courts to begin with?

Do a survey and see how many trinis actually have faith in the legal system we currently have and politicians will not for ANYTHING make any improvements to such I guess we not fixing what not broken in their eyes.

O Supes morning.

DeFitzgerald lil sensitive so go easy. He likes to insult others but just cannot take it when others do the same. So i suggest talking to him softly before he starts on his tantrums and reports you, not like the Mods take him on anyhow knowing the character. I actually had put him on a time out. Remember domestic violence is rampant so i wouldn’t provoke him too much. I feeling so sorry he always getting bobolized.

However United Nations will jump in and say we are savages however they oblivious to the crime wave we currently under for the past years. How many men sitting down in a cell waiting for case to call years after the fact. Politicians making irrelevant changes but will not change the Important things. We the ppl not demanding better at the same time

Don't have to be an expert to know what is blatantly in front of you sheep, the statistics speak for themselves, the backlog in cases speak for themselves . You want sources since you always asking for sources or references since you are a lecturer go in the courthouse and see how old those matters are that they are now addressing.

You always want somebody to make a change that's why you will always be a cog in the wheel, like one of them trinis when the govt doing sheit...."well wa we go do bai" can't do nun them in charge....see how stupid you sound
