Cost of living in Trinidad and Tobago
Family of four estimated monthly costs: 23,029 TT$
Single person estimated monthly costs: 10,943 TT$
Trinidad and Tobago is the 3rd most expensive country in Latin America (3 out of 15)
Cost of living in Trinidad and Tobago is more expensive than in 64% of countries in the World (34 out of 92)

Basic lunchtime menu (including a drink) in the business district 50 TT$
Combo meal in fast food restaurant (big mac meal or similar) 39 TT$
500 gr (1 lb.) of boneless chicken breast 24 TT$
1 liter (1 qt.) of whole fat milk 14 TT$
12 eggs, large 24 TT$
1 kg (2 lb.) of tomatoes 22 TT$
500 gr (16 oz.) of local cheese 25 TT$
1 kg (2 lb.) of apples 36 TT$
1 kg (2 lb.) of potatoes 9 T&T$
Bread for 2 people for 1 day 12 T&T$

1 box of antibiotics (12 doses) 305 TT$
Short visit to private doctor (15 minutes) 700 T&T$

That looks like complete BS. If that is indeed factual then plenty people and I mean PLENTY people will have to take a bank loan just to survive each month.

That site is for expats. Expats gonna go by one of dem big shot places in town when they need medical treatment

Doctors by me in country is $200 with medicines. Cost of living varies greatly depending on your standard of living. There are people living on 8 to 10 grand total with children and living ok

Wonder how it compares to somewhere like Ft Lauderdale or Palm Beach in reality. I think the site says housing less in Trinidad but surely not.

carry your own water (or buy it at a grocery for $2), forget soft drink etc. those things not healthy anyway
stay away from 'per pound' establishments.

in Uptown Mall i could get rice, lentils, stew chicken and fresh salad for $30.

that lunch is quite accurate by any of the popular places on ave
in fact you might pay more by weigh places like pecos

GP's are $400, specialists are $600 even inside of st clair medical

if it is expat based then of course they including rent of at least $1k usd
