As he's not white that many was expecting him to be, this will fall off the news cycle by weekend or so. Normal bashing of the NRA and they are not going anywhere.

RIP to the teacher and children.

Agree with this. The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) needs to be strengthened.

Leave the approval amounts around where it is now.

One of these Trinis WILL offload in a junior sec when their girl/boy chirren get caught up in the weekly scuffles.
Max ,

How many illegal firearms are in this country, legal or not they still very much prevalent and nothing is stopping an incident like this from happening here tbh

Jason,

Correct.

Mark my words….you have to give Trinis the inch first…and their true colors show in the mile.

But look at the statistics J, these types of shootings happen in countries with large amounts of licensed firearm holders.

yeah they have more mass shootings, but overall murder rate is much lower than trinidad.

i still believe we should have something like the US 2nd Amendment, but just with stricter background checks to make sure ppl who applying for one are thoroughly vetted so crazies dont get any FULs.

Generally speaking even if we get a mass shooting or 2 a year or murders committed by a FUL holder, the murders that would have been committed with illegal weapons but now averted by other FUL holders defending themselves will far outweigh it.

u may get a temporary period where a lot of self dense killings take place but then the criminals will realize they getting kill like flies and think twice, after that the murder rate will go down.

As more young men become disenfranchised what do you expect would happen to those who can't handle it?

Boko Haram did not kill the children. They kidnap for a reason.

The irony that this happened in Texas is not surprising. It has the most lax laws with respect to guns. Anyone age 18+ can own a gun.

A former FBI officer was saying that the damage to a child caused by the gun used (AR-15) can be horrific. So bad, in fact, that sometimes DNA would have to be taken from parents to identify their children. In other words, the bullets from that gun can obliterate a child.

California and New York have some of the strictest gun laws in the US but yet in the past few weeks we have heard about the Buffalo shooter and the Taiwanese Church shooter.
Last month and the month before Sacramento had two mass shooting events with multiple people killed.
Texas isn't unique is it??

I think the states has a mental health problem in addition to the gun problem. We have lots of guns in Trinidad, mostly illegal but people don't get shot by the dozens simply for being in a place. The fact that nut cases over in the US can access guns legally is scary in itself

There's a video of a man being shot for a chain in Grande yesterday.
By the dozen or individually being shot is being shot oui!!

Trinis who say they think they safer here confuses me. Crime here seems so random that a fear always persists.

Keep in mind mid-term elections coming up in November so Dems will milk gun control while Reps will milk gun rights.

Why continue bringing children into world of suffering? Unfortunately humans will never be smart enough to realize that life is not worth all this sheit.

aaron,

T&T is already this and worse.

So many of our nation’s children have been lost and missing and no one seems to care.

We did not have hundreds of mass shootings in T&T.

True,

But for a country that has hundreds of mass shootings, their crime rate per 100k people is still lower than T&T.

That’s why i said T&T is worse.

For your corrections.

The fact that people need to point out not having these kinds of incidents as a positive tells you the state that T&T is in
