WTK: how to calculate aggregate quantity

Postby hindian » May 20th, 2022, 8:55 pm

Guys I was looking for the home construction thread to ask and couldn't find it. Mods do the needful if required. I'm trying to figure out the quantity of gravel needed for 600 ft² of driveway 4" thick and how much cement would be required. Trying to work out if hand mix will be cheaper than ready mix. I know the mix consistency will differ with the hand mix. Maths eh my strong point so help mih out please. Thanks.

Once the area is prepared properly and the cement truck can access the area easily to make the pour, go with the trucks. Call around to the concrete companies. They will ask for the dimensions and will tell you what’s needed. Also make sure to maintain that 4” depth.

7.4 Cubic yards
5.6 Cubic Meters
