Princes Town couple in suicide pact

Postby abducted » March 21st, 2022, 9:20 am

A Princes Town couple was found dead in their home on Saturday evening by their nine year old daughter.

Steve Jugmohan and Sharlene Ramkisson resided at La Pailla Road, Princes Town with other members of their family and children. According to the family, one of the couple’s five children, their nine year old daughter, alerted family members that her parents hung themselves at around 11pm. Family members discovered Steve in the bathroom, while Sharlene was lying on the floor in the bedroom. Police were immediately called to the scene.

It was said that the couple left a video for their children explaining their decision to take their lives. The video is now in the hands of the police. The police have not made an official classification. However, family members state the couple kept to themselves and did not discuss any issues they may have been having.

The news this morning said that they had financial problems, they left behind two children, something isn't right,

Is 5 children.

Rumour is that they were heavy into gambling and were deep in debt.

I agree,

Selfish of the parents and if they can be this heartless and inconsiderate to their children then i don’t want to hear no sad story. Maybe they are better off dead if they have that type of thinking to now affect the lives of their children.

Slim, stop blaming the Venes. Your countrymen gave the Venes all the reason to come and find employment.

Laziness is the reason why Trinis are being replaced, plain and simple.

If allyuh would change the attitude then people would not be put in a position to consider outsiders.

Stop the excuses and get to work. Win back the faith and confidence from your own people.

I won't doubt that. I knew a couple people personally who took the suicide route allegedly because of gambling debts. Normal normal ppl, you never would think they were gambling or any other type of addict.

there should be a limit to how much ppl can legally gamble based on their means, especially when they are showing signs of addiction - i mean they didn't just lose money but their life by suicide- it should never come to that.

"The so-called ‘psychotically depressed’ person who tries to kill herself doesn’t do so out of quote ‘hopelessness’ or any abstract conviction that life’s assets and debits do not square. And surely not because death seems suddenly appealing. The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view; i.e. the fear of falling remains a constant. The variable here is the other terror, the fire’s flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors. It’s not desiring the fall; it’s terror of the flames. And yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don’t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. Not really. You’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling."

I think it's selfish to say suicide is selfish. Suicide is about the person committing suicide, only them. Sucks for immediate family and friends and the aftermath of it but its not about them.

Suicide is the ultimate act of pro choice

Children aren't asked to be brought into this world. They are the innocent victims here.
The parents only thought about themselves and no one else. Only they mattered apparently.

It won't make sense to you nor me cuz we not suicidal. As I said it's a complete sheit show for relatives and kids and I hope they get the counseling they need.

I think suicide is selfish only if its really to spite someone for not loving them, leaving them etc. Ppl pretend to be suicidal for the attention but could never get around to it

Know how much balls it takes to end yourself? Can you kill yourself? I know I can't so these ppl mustve been at some point of depression which is also a mental illness. Easy to say dem selfish like it easy to say anything else about ppls lives. Easy to say dey coulda call someone.

I think when you at that point and being driven to that and hearing them voices and being driven by them impulses, it really isn't about anyone's feelings who think you selfish. Suicide is about no one else but you

It would be selfish if they were chronic gamblers in the first place as suggested and didn't give a thought about the child's financial future. If they thought about anything other than cheap thrills then they wouldn't have been in the suicide situation in the first place. Either way they're selfish if the gambling story is true

Well I wasn't lying down in their bed or checking their finances or judging their parenting skills so I can't judge cuz I read a 3 paragraph report that they were gamblers... and neither should you
