Definitely not standard equipment for this type of work locally. If the job can only work with SCUBA, then that method statement has to be completely rethought, as the inherent risks with SCUBA are broadly intolerable in an oil and gas setting. See guidance below:

also the location of the other plug.

the men them was right there, is jess to dislodge the diving equipment, prolly drag it back out the pipe, and drag the men them out the same way.

I wish Colin Piper and all of his defenders a place right in front of the devil in hell where he can piss on them for the rest of eternity with boiling crude oil.

Not everyone taking this lightly, the frustration level will lead to vigilante actions against some of these muffler bearings.

Don't you think that if those men were "right there" they would have made their way back similar to how Chris did? Even if they were injured, don't you think that they would be desperate to get out of the pipe seeing that it was filled with toxic fumes and oil etc?

apart from the scuba equipment blocking their way, they are 'rite deh' enough that the rescue could have been continued, instead of stopped and them men get written off.

and she had a very "comprehensive" video from the ROV too
she was getting info direct from Paria

sad that they would go to such lengths of propaganda immediately
give them a chance they would do that before an incident if they had a crystal ball

Paria was preparing death notices, 12 hours after divers sucked into pipeline:
This despite their families and the survivor insisting they were alive, and volunteers pleading for a chance to rescue them.
Via the Express Newspaper

Only 12 hours after the divers were sucked into undersea pipeline off Paria’s facility in Pointe-a-Pierre on February 25, the company’s management was drafting press releases to declare the men dead, and to offer condolences to their families.

This despite their families and the survivor insisting they were alive, and volunteers pleading for a chance to rescue them.

Their autopsies revealed a horrific truth–that Fyzal Kurban, Rishi Nagassar, Kazim Ali Jnr, and Yusuf Henry could have been alive for up to three days. “Two working draft press releases–Moving for rescue to recovery effort–condolences once bodies are recovered” wrote a member of the company’s Incident Management Team, in one of a series of WhatsApp messages disclosed on the website of the Commission of Enquiry into the deaths of four divers.

The message carried a time stamp of February 26, at 2.54 a.m.

The deceased divers, along with survivor Christopher Boodram, were pulled into the pipeline around 2.40 p.m. on February 25.

The WhatsApp messages give an account of the response in the hours following the tragedy, the treatment of the families of the trapped divers, the scramble to find equipment to search the pipeline, and a botched effort to remove the hyperbaric chamber (habitat), which fell into the sea, where it remains.

It also mentions an early effort involving a ship to pump oil out of the pipeline, and the search for a specialised chamber to treat survivor Christopher Boodram who was suspected to have decompression illness.

Michael Wei - Tech Maintenance Mgr.

Sad to say but locally outside of the O&G majors, these projects are commonly coupled with poor Risk Analysis and Emergency Response Plans. This was the culture at Petrotrin and it simply continued, alot of smaller operators locally compromise safety for production. I do hope for the industry's sake that some sort of firm legislation is put in place under the MOEEI's remit, similar to the UK and US

Find it ridiculous he couldn't even directly say if a risk assessment was done.
