Microsoft to Buy Activision Blizzard for US$70billion

Postby Duane 3NE 2NR » January 18th, 2022, 11:08 pm

Microsoft Corp. agreed to buy Activision Blizzard Inc. in an all-cash deal valued at about $75 billion, using its largest acquisition by far to grab a videogame heavyweight.

The deal, if completed, would sharply expand Microsoft’s already sizable videogame operation, adding a stable of popular game franchises including Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Candy Crush to Microsoft’s Xbox console business and its own games like Minecraft and Doom. Microsoft said the transaction would make it the world’s third-largest gaming company by revenue, behind China’s Tencent Holdings Ltd. and Japan’s Sony Group Corp.

It's crazy ....well it will feel crazy to us older folk.
Until we see the revenue games generating.

But these game franchises are a 24/7 revenue stream and the future rolling out now -the Metaverse is highly scalable new planet .. accessible to all waiting to be populated and monetized.

Eg...my son only wants PSN cards for any gift.
He can load up on whatever game he is playing ATM.
Fortnite would have gottenn500+ usd from him ...for friggin skins ( I still have my shogun) and battlepasses

Fortnite rolled into Call of Duty and GTA5.

It's the opposite of the dot com bubble where proof of concept came after IPO, the concept is generating billions already.

Truly amazing.

I'm a big gamer so I knew these game producers had huge valuations, but nothing to the magnitude of 70B that is freaking massive bro!

The chart above shows MSFT making 3 of the largest acquisitions in the space.

they have a plan-so they paying for what every Activision brings to the MSFT plan.

Nothing will fundamentally change unless the entire upper management is fired from that company, those who turned a blind eye to sexual harassment and grave incompetence to the point where indie developers with 0.1% of the revenue were doing a significantly better job than this company. These people were so out of touch with reality it was mind boggling.
