Fake cop caught using junkyard squad car to do police work

POLICE are probing an incident where a man allegedly impersonated a police officer and was allegedly caught driving police vehicle that was at a junkyard.

The man was confronted by police as he escorted two trucks from a transportation company.

A police report said that around 11.20 a.m. Sgt Mohammed attached to the Tableland Police Station received information that a marked police vehicle was escorting two large trucks from a well-known company.

Sgt Mohammed, Cpl Harrypersad and a party of officers from the Tableland Police Station spotted the vehicle along the Naparima Mayaro Road and observed the driver wearing plainclothes.

Police intercepted the vehicle and questioned the driver, who allegedly gave his name as PC Ramroop attached to Aranguez police station.

However, upon request for his police identification card he drove off the marked police car.

Officers intercepted it a short distance away and the driver was detained.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found a driver's permit bearing a picture which bore a likeness to the driver.

The driver’s permit also bore the name of a man, aged 24, of St John’s Road, Avocat, which the suspect allegedly admitted was his identification information.

Police also found in the car a fleet card and a gas invoice dated June 24, 2021.

I only have a few questions

From where and how did he acquire the vehicle?
How did he know that the trucks required a police escort and how to acquire said police vehicle for the purpose of impersonating an officer? Since he's not an officer, and the request for an escort would assumably be made at the nearest police station that he doesn't work in, how'd he know to get a police vehicle and go to that location to perform that function?

this one smelling like it have plenty more in the mortar than just the pestle

Officers do the escort privately-instead of going through the rigamarole to do it officially-officers take the money direct...
TTPS seniors charge big money to provide Security management to companies.
TTPS patrols -static and vehicle can be sourced for a price from those same fellows.

They have the fleet card,the vehicle, private company, and the driver.

i saw this on an episode of CHIPS from the 80's. he must be have a brother who was killed on duty and he took his place unofficially or some sort story.

is a long time now i saying its a waste of time for police to be escorting trucks and heavy equipment around..

Years ago a guy walked in to police station and signed on for duty. Then two days later they found out he was not a cop.

Bikes and some Axio's .....dey dont need to go anywhere fast when escorting an excavator.
