This is real bs. 3/4 of the country home without pay and as the government issue restrictions, them raising taxi price to earn the same salary? What happens if everyone raises their price? What is the justification for the price increase from $8 to $10?
its temporary, just until the heightened measures last.
just like how speed trap and tickets is govt's way of encouraging people to obey the laws, this is liek the taxi men encouraging people to only do important traveling.
Also if they decide it not worth it and all of them stay home, how would the people who need the transport for essentials, get to their destination? Pay the price or don't pay the price but don't make one set ah noise about it. Fight up when the big man or govt raise their prices not the lil man.
Everything imported going up too, customs playing up in dey arse and using covid to work extra slow, resulting in some greedy custom shipping company bonded warehouses jamming customers with unreasonable Rent for goods.. So take that too..
Last year after fares went up, some of them never went back down eh. St. Ann's and Hospital taxi drivers never raised their fares in comparison to those greedy POS/ Sando taxi drivers running on CNG but raising their fare by $5. I thought the government was subsidizing taxi drivers for their losses? Can anyone confirm?

Actually you use less gasoline with 50% of passengers because it is less weight in the car so less work on the engine so less gas. They also supposed to use less gas because there is less traffic so they run their route quickly and do more trips. This is the argument that taxis use during christmas time to charge $20 from gulf to sando. They say there is more traffic so they can't do as many trips so they hike up to $20
How you doing more trips when the stand have no passengers? U work taxi? U travel? Working at 50% makes no sense for me. Not with all the hustlers who overloading.
