Was impressed with this. Dunno why I assumed she was making cardboard pop music with like Timbaland or something. After about 6:20 though, it get's iffy to me.
I eh know about Willow Smith. She, Miley and Demi Lovato does try too hard to come across as deep and transcendental and is a set of participation medal level content they pushing.

Hold up hoss. Wasn't saying to run out and pre-order her next album, eh? Was just saying that the performance was better than expected. As for the comparisons to Miley and Lovato? Musically, I don't agree. Personality wise? I have no clue. Last time I saw her she was singing "whip my hair." I like that I'm hearing a lot more alternative, Neo-soul and R&B and 1970s style soul influences here, plus the fact that she seems to be going more instrument based singer/songwriter direction over Miley and Lovato's much more conventional, pure contemporary pop direction. If she stays in that vein I don't see why she couldn't be a serious artist in the near future. Doh rule out the girl because of her baggage.
