seeing the govt say they waiting on approval for Pediatric vaccines

https://www.ttt.live/moh-places-order-f ... 9-vaccine/

they should bring in the Pfizer and let those of us who want to chance it go ahead, imo. It's already approved in the US and given to millions of children and very safe and very effective. Not taking it as a risk as well, an I rather give my child the vaccine than wait for the inevitable.

The position on children vaccine is kinda clear when you read this:
https://www.who.int/news/item/24-11-202 ... dolescents

It's not really a risk, more a matter of making sure the more vulnerable groups have access first.
Countries can go ahead and roll it out for children - but WHO not gonna sign off until they hit the targets for the vulnerable groups first

vulnerable children tho

edit: the Pfizer kids vaccine is a different product to the adult one too. So it isn't like rich countries can send the pediatric product to adults or anything like that.

I take your point but increased demand for child doses could perhaps affect the manufacturing side and reduce supply of adult doses to countries worldwide. Unless Pfizer allows foreign manufacturers to make the product.

So safety and efficacy is not enough for WHO? They should at least grant EUA for vulnerable children with health conditions if it is Omicron is more severe for them than previous variants.

Cost is less than US$2 per dose.

A Texas team comes up with a COVID vaccine that could be a global game changer

January 5, 2022

A vaccine authorized in December for use in India may help solve one of the most vexing problems in global public health: How to supply lower-income countries with a COVID-19 vaccine that is safe, effective and affordable.

The vaccine is called CORBEVAX. It uses old but proven vaccine technology and can be manufactured far more easily than most, if not all, of the COVID-19 vaccines in use today.

"CORBEVAX is a game changer," says Dr. Keith Martin, executive director of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health in Washington, D.C. "It's going to enable countries around the world, particularly low-income countries, to be able to produce these vaccines and distribute them in a way that's going to affordable, effective and safe."

Clinical trials showed they were right to be confident CORBEVAX would work. An unpublished study conducted in India involving 3,000 volunteers found the vaccine to be 90% effective in preventing disease cause by the original COVID-19 virus strain and 80% against the delta variant. It's still being tested against omicron.

But CORBEVAX is already entering the real world. Last month, the vaccine received emergency use authorization from regulators in India. An Indian vaccine manufacturer called Biological E Ltd is now making the vaccine. The company says it is producing 100 million doses per month and has already sold 300 million doses to the Indian government.

Why don't we develop our own vaccine so we don't have to depend on vaccine handouts from other countries?

it was due to covid infection not the vaccine

Alphonso Davies diagnosed with mild myocarditis by Bayern Munich after recovering from Covid-19
Chris Burton
Jan 14, 2022 07:51-04:00

Alphonso Davies has seen an immediate return to action at Bayern Munich ruled out, with the Bundesliga giants detecting signs of heart muscle inflammation in a player that has recently recovered from Covid-19.

The Canada international defender sat out a first outing of 2022 for the reigning German champions after posting a positive test result for coronavirus.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach in his absence, and the talented 21-year-old will not come back into contention any time soon after picking up another health problem.

covid causes the same effects that antivaxxers complaining about with the vaccine myocarditis, blood clots, etc.

questions should be are athletes more likely to get myocarditis than normal ppl?

Well then the vaccine didn't work. Pretty sure a guy like him probably get boosted as well. So after getting three vaccinations, he still get myocarditis?? So what exactly the vaccine protected him from??

I assumed he meant the virus itself is man made. Or is it whoever invented it is playing chess and made the virus and the vaccine ?

during the first 12 months of the pandemic, males aged 12 to 17 were most likely to develop myocarditis within three months of catching covid-19, at a rate of about 450 cases per million infections.
This compares with 67 cases of myocarditis per million males of the same age following their second dose of a Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine, according to figures from the US Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
