Mixing Covid Vaccines increases reports of mild side-effects
Ever wondered if your first shot was Astra Zenica and the second shot was Sinopharm?

Adults are more likely to report mild and moderate side-effects after mixing doses of the AstraZeneca and Pfizer Covid vaccines, a study indicates.

Chills, headaches and muscle pain were reported more frequently when different vaccine doses were combined.

Any adverse reactions were short lived, with no other safety concerns.

"It's a really intriguing finding and not something we were necessarily expecting," Prof Matthew Snape, from the Oxford Vaccine Group said.

US President Joe Biden has announced that his country will send 20 million US-approved COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson) overseas by the end of June.
The US President had previously given a commitment to provide 60 million of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is not yet approved for use in the United States, to other countries. Earlier this year, it shared 4 million doses of its AstraZeneca stockpile with Mexico and Canada.
It is still to be confirmed which countries will receive the now 80 million vaccines from the US.
President Biden had previously given a commitment to CARICOM Chair, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, that his country will share COVID-19 vaccines with the region. The assurance came after Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley wrote President Biden on March 19th to request that the Caribbean, which “has often been referred to as the Third Border of the United States by previous United States Administrations,” be included among the "neighbouring" countries the US intended to share its surplus vaccines with.
* The following is President Biden’s message today:
“America will never be fully safe while this pandemic is raging globally. That’s why today, I’m announcing that over the next six weeks we will send 80 million vaccine doses overseas.
It is the right thing to do. It is the smart thing to do. It is the strong thing to do.”

Because trinidad would have to be the greatest outlier ever to kill over 285 people from side effects by vaccinating 60k. But you can believe whatever makes you happy.

Anaphylaxis and blood clots but both are rare and treatable after 1.4 billion doses of various vaccines. So the answer that you're searching for is only available from Tucker Carlson on Fox.

But you already knew that.

This data is a month old
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/10/heal ... clots.html

As of April 4, European regulators had received reports of 222 cases of the rare blood-clotting problem in Britain and the 30-nation European Economic Area (the European Union plus Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein). They said that about 34 million people had received the AstraZeneca vaccine in those countries, and that the clotting problems were appearing at a rate of about one in 100,000 recipients

Germany, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Portugal and Spain have recommended that the AstraZeneca vaccine be given only to people over 60. Canada and France have limited it to those over 55; Australia, over 50; and Belgium, over 56. Britain, where the AstraZeneca vaccine was developed, has been its staunchest defender, but announced on Wednesday that it would begin offering alternative shots to people under 30.

More recently
https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/news/astra ... ks-context
The benefits of Vaxzevria outweigh its risks in adults of all age groups; however, very rare cases of blood clots with low blood platelets1 have occurred following vaccination.

It feels like these vaccines are in alpha testing phase and because of the liability clause, you have nothing to get if it does kill you.

Then in a year time one vaccine will emerge victorious.

While I am sure the risk is being exaggerated, why are we all of a sudden seeing governments and pharmaceutical companies as being humanitarian?

Pandemics slow world trade and economic growth. This point has been discussed in the media many, many times over the last 100 years.

-------

Global equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines estimated to generate economic benefits of at least US$ 153 billion in 2020–21, and US$ 466 billion by 2025, in 10 major economies, according to new report by the Eurasia Group

As world leaders gather virtually at the Special Session of the General Assembly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, new data published today finds that leaving low- and lower-middle-income countries (LLMICs) without access to vaccines amid the COVID-19 pandemic will cause significant economic damage that puts decades of economic progress at risk – for both LLMICs and advanced economies alike.

The report by the Eurasia Group analyses ten major economies – Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Qatar, South Korea, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States – to assess the economic benefits to advanced economies of contributing to the work of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator.

The ACT Accelerator, led by WHO and partnering with the world’s leading international health organizations, is a unique global collaboration which supports the development and equitable distribution of the tests, treatments and vaccines the world needs to fight COVID-19. However, the programme still has a significant funding gap of US$ 28.2 billion – with US$ 4.3 billion needed urgently to fast-track critical areas of work. If that shortfall isn’t met, low- and low-middle income countries will have delayed access to these vital tools in 2021, which will result in a protracted pandemic, with severe economic consequences, not just for these countries by also for the wider global economy.

https://www.who.int/news/item/03-12-202 ... in-2020-21

What are the long-run economic consequences of pandemics?

Today, the relationship between population and income is more complicated. There is some evidence from the HIV/AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa that epidemics can still lead to higher wages (Young, 2005). But modern economies depend much more on education and skill, and they make use of forms of capital that are not constrained in the same way as farmland in medieval Europe.

Today’s workers, whose wages depend on their human capital and who largely cooperate in large firms that engage in extensive trade, are unlikely to benefit in the same way as peasants. Disruptions to education and training, and frictions in trade carry far higher penalties in 2020 than ever before.

Covid-19 appears particularly unlikely to offer any kind of opportunity to its survivors. Mortality is highest among the elderly, who are already often outside the workforce, suggesting no substantial change in the supply of workers. While the impact of measures to control the spread of disease are dramatically affecting children and young workers’ ability to gain skills and reducing global flows of trade.

Because this is a globally significant event. It's not completely altruistic, they have to do their jobs and manage the citizens, healthcare systems, overall economy and balance all that on a tightrope during a raging fire.

Look at what is happening in India with the complete meltdown. COVID is like a series of dominos, and can have a ripple effect on much larger factors.

I'm not saying that individuals make sheit decisions behind the faces of some companies, but that's why there are layers and layers of checks and balances with some degree of independence. Karens of the internet can rage in their belief systems, but I trust the process that has worked with other globally significant health threats.

Very sad state of affairs Trini is in ... When Guyana has vaccinated nearly 20% of their population and you aint reach 5% yet something is very amiss.

The WHO are the same people who have us in this mess then we are to go to them as the authority on what to do and not do?

Yep that liability clause is a problem.

I feel like they will come out -say you need booster/update shots for ever and say that you have to stay with whatever vaccine Co you started with.

it is almost a surety booster shots or annual shots to cover the variants that popping up will be required just like the regular flu vaccine

https://newsroom.gy/2021/04/02/guyanas- ... ik-v-here/

20,000 doses from China (Sinopharm)
80,000 doses from India (Covishield aka Astra Zenica)

So they got disproportionally larger donations from India and Barbados they are using unapproved WHO vaccines, at least at the time in the case of Sinopharm. Not forgetting their population is half of ours.

How could T&T have forced our donors to give more and should we have been using unapproved vaccines?

Things happen when you make them and dont sit on your @$$ waiting for them to happen. If the opposition here didnt kick up a stink about getting vaccines from India would we have ever gotten the donation.

Unapproved WHO vaccines please bruh it is generally acknowledged by all WHO dropped the ball on this. Sinopharm and Sputnik V are saving lives elsewhere long now those who are in the know would see the data that has been compiled for many months where Sputnik is concerned.

Guyana has half the population of Trinbago ... 40x's the land mass and not even 1/10th the foreign reserves and yet has managed to vaccinate over 2x's as much people 153k versus 61k.

Stop listening to the excuses for those really responsible cause words mean nothing on results count people are dying because of this mismanagement.
