If you express any opinion that is not blatantly anti PNM, then you are automatically a card carrying life member of the PNM. Now move on...j.o.e wrote:Kickstart wrote:But the media is PNM ownedj.o.e wrote:hover11 wrote:Expect a new allowance carded for him soon , housing maintenance allowance.

Headline and article inconsistent…. Regardless of party affiliation. It’s not a case of me thinking they are pro any side. I think it’s harder and harder to sell papers and most people dunce and buy because of headlines.

Yes and they also vote because of headlines in favor of PNMj.o.e wrote:Kickstart wrote:But the media is PNM ownedj.o.e wrote:hover11 wrote:Expect a new allowance carded for him soon , housing maintenance allowance.

Fun fact about the Industrial court.....All judges are on FIVE year contracts so basically the government of the day always has them in their back pockets, another fact ....the Industrial court cannot force payment they can make a judgment. They literally have no teeth. Another fact the reason why unions cannot beat the road every Monday morning is because the Industrial relations act created by the politicians, prohibits it.wing wrote:Imbert: Government awaiting tribunal ruling on 4 % wage offer

Finance Minister Colm Imbert said the government is waiting on the judgment of a special tribunal of the Industrial Court on its four per cent wage offer to public sector trade unions.
He was responding to a question from Naparima MP Rodney Charles in Parliament on Friday which queried whether government would reconsider the four per cent offer considering reports of discontent from the unions.
Imbert said, “Having been unable to reach agreement with public sector trade unions for collective agreements for the period 2014 to 2019, the matters were reported as unresolved disputes to the special tribunal of the Industrial Court in October 2022.”
“It should be noted that under the Essential Services Division of the court is the special tribunal established by the Civil Service Act Chapter 23:01. The tribunal hears and determines disputes in the civil service, the police service, the fire service, the prison service, the teaching service, the supplemental police and the Central Bank. The special tribunal consists of the chairman of the essential services division of the Industrial Court and two other members of that division selected by the chairman. The government now awaits the hearing and determination by the tribunal of these disputes.”
Is the industrial court impartial? Or are we waiting for the verdict then to pronounce based on feelings?
What happens when the court finds in favor of the union? Is it impartial then?hover11 wrote:Fun fact about the Industrial court.....All judges are on FIVE year contracts so basically the government of the day always has them in their back pockets, another fact ....the Industrial court cannot force payment they can make a judgment. Would it matter.....the government always wins. Even if we win based on a signed agreement. The court can lay a judgment but the government does not have to pay. Reality, if you don't show up for a court matter in the industrial court there isn't a warrant issued for your arrest like normal courts the matter is simply pushed back. Why do you think ALL wage negotiations are pushed in the industrial court it is the ultimate cop out by the government to have all wage matters stalled until 2025. That way the government comes on top by looking like the hero while having their employees suffer for the past 4 years lol.wing wrote:What happens when the court finds in favor of the union? Simple....when you have a contract just because your name government doesn't mean you immune to the repercussions of a legally binding document.
