Was thinking the same thing. All the business listed are non essential and people could do without that in their life.

True, some will save a little more.
Flip side- many will be without an income unless they find something else or get creative.

I hope that things will pick up back locally by Christmas. We survived the Covid well compared to other countries. We are free to move about now. Things very grim in USA. The Covid has had this effect worldwide. And if people not spending their money, the economy goes down the tank. The Government needs to stimulate the economy by creating incentives for people to spend their money again like pre-Covid. This could mean reducing taxes and gas prices for 1 fiscal year on a number of goods and services locally.

But guess what really going to happen next budget? An over-bright man in Parliament who feel he is an economist (but has no such qualifications) already showed that his idea of reviving the economy is more taxes on everything, more import duties, even a fake online tax to punish citizens more.

Don't ever be gullible to think a closed business is due to economic climates.

^^

Business crumbling like cookies !!

Even price of BODI STOCKS at a low low price - People want CASH

Location: Nationwide - London Clothing Stores

Sale on everything $99

These were $399.00 items ..

So some business people realize that things NOT normal .

While OTHERS thinking I will ride out the storm with high prices i.e. Car dealerships - new and foreign used .

Time will tell us that TT is ..

Wait for it ...

Most of the entertainment industry still shut down, sound system, decorators, promoters etc still feeling it and I am still home as a result. I've been relying on my trades to keep me going because there seems to be no Indication as to if and when things going to start back up.

at the core business are designed to provide a product/service or combination of both to customers. if there is little to no demand for such products again, be it whatever reason then these business will go out of business and the market will adapt around it. in theory anyways.
people will have to look at different areas to open businesses or different areas of study to plan for future jobs. market adjustments are required and willingness to do so may be the difference with some people managing to pull through out of this. who knows if any vaccine if at all will come forth.
