Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh made the announcement while speaking at the Ministry of Health's virtual media briefing on Saturday.
He said: "As far as safe zones (are) concerned, safe zones cannot be frequented by children under the age of 12 because they are not vaccinated. A child who would like to go with their vaccinated family into a safe zone, like a restaurant or cinema and so on, from Monday, they will be able to accompany their vaccinated parents, their vaccinated siblings into a safe zone."
Deyalsingh further urged parents to do their own risk assessment before taking their children to the safe zones.
The health minister also announced that beach and river time restrictions will be lifted.
However, Deyalsingh stressed that no parties, fires or alcohol will be allowed.
Beachgoers, he said, must also wear their masks when not in the water.
He said: "As far as beaches and rivers are concerned, we are lifting the time limits. Right now, it's until 6pm. There will be no time limits for beaches and river. However, all other caveats apply. That is, once you are not in the water, please wear your masks, no alcohol, no partying, no open fires etc."
The new regulations will come into effect from Monday.

The place wasn't as relaxing as I though with plenty folks and very little safe room for the kids to have fun.
The use of alcohol and some crazy football just bordering on rugby by some led to a feeling of uneasy.
I really don't think I will be returning anytime soon ( at least on a weekend).
BTW, the tent and lounge chair rental folks clearly own the best beach frontage.

Had the same feeling after last week Sunday but it was several factors that was offputting. It was 1st time carrying the kiddo since 2020 btw!!!
1/ Traffic into Maracas wasn't bad but took about 1/2hr to 45 Mins wait to get into the parking spot
2/ Beach chairs and umbrella ppl basically took the entire beach front
3/ Massive crowding. You really couldn't distance unless you stayed far away from the shoreline
4/ We left around 5.50pm so most of the beach chairs were being packed away. It was just piles and piles of rubbish on the beach- beer bottles, food containers etc. Trinis just nasty
5/ Road block by the pillars when leaving led to a 2 hour traffic jam just to reach Saddle Road

if is in open air, will not be a problem. was never a problem.
if is indoors, would help for like the first 20 mins of occupancy, but after that, u will get break tru a cloth mask. need an n95 to actually filter virus particles. a simple cloth just delays the progress.
