They did checks and the vaccines were still found to be stable passed the initial expiration date. So now the FDA has approved the extended dates once the vaccines were kept in the proper conditions.

Vaccine expiration date extensions are granted on a case by case basis after reviewing batch potency. It is not dependent on who holds the vial so long as storage and handling requirements have been met.

3% chance of death.

6+% chance of hospitalization.

Every person that becomes infected potentially infects 2 to 6 more.

If you haven't been infected, you will. And then you will get infected again after that.
