yeah it includes airline staff too - no wonder many flights getting cancelled
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/airlines-face-mask-covid-rules-flights-canceled/
some ppl (including immunocompromised ppl) have to travel by the way for medical or family issues. not everyone travelling for vacation.
SO DAMN PREDICTABLE—UK govt drops restrictions, airlines like @easyJet drops masks… and less than 2 weeks later… huge spike in pilots and flight attendants out sick with #COVID19 unable to work, and 120 flights cancelled! Airline CEOs asked for this. https://t.co/zVOc2g2KzS pic.twitter.com/YWD7XIOodl

influenza
The R0 for influenza is between 1 and 2
The R0 for Omicron BA.2 the latest variant is about 12
https://www.pharmatimes.com/news/omicro ... nd_1389089
"Omicron’s Surprising Anatomy Explains Why It Is Wildly Contagious
Omicron spreads quickly. The earliest coronavirus variants had an average incubation period of roughly five days. The Delta variant moved faster at four days, and for Omicron, it’s about three. For a virus, this is lightning speed even compared to the highly contagious measles virus, where one person can infect 15 other people in 12 days. Omicron doubles every 2-3 days, with one case spreading to six people in four days, 36 people in eight days, and a hefty 216 people after 12 days."

if masks work, covee is STILL a thing, so keep protecting ur self.. in ur own car, that ur own family use.
Masks work when used properly
That's why doctors and surgeons use masks
If you won't wear a mask for political reasons you were wearing it for the wrong reason
thats for droplet splashes, not airborne particles of viruses.
im sure the case rate after the 10k + fetes would show bumps, to attest to the performance of the cloth masks.
me dont have 1000 dollar to pay every time to the govt. as soon as it officially disbanded, its off.
hopefully, all those that still say cloth masks was working recognize that covee isnt done and still chose to protect themselves.
What is a respirator and what is a NIOSH-approved N-95 respirator?
A respirator is a personal protective device that is worn on the face, covers at least the nose and mouth, and is used to reduce the wearer’s risk of inhaling hazardous airborne particles (including dust particles and infectious agents), gases, or vapors. ...
N-95 Respirator
An N-95 respirator is one of nine types of disposable particulate respirators.
Particulate respirators are also known as “air-purifying respirators” because they protect by filtering particles out of the air as you breathe. These respirators protect only against particles—not gases or vapors. Since airborne biological agents such as bacteria or viruses are particles, they can be filtered by particulate respirators.

You need to get your little monkeyass back in there and figure out the difference between price elasticity and inelasticity before you raise up your leg to piss on another thread.

redmanjp wrote:but UK has way higher vax and boosted levels
and I'm sure as any first world country already using Paxlovid as well as monoclonals which lowers the risk more a lot more than us. Paxlovid has an efficacy of 89% of keeping ppl from progressing to severe illness. so even the few unvaxxed elderly ppl can be treated out of hospital.
by the way what do u mean paxlovid being used in Couva? that is what u take to keep u out of hospital? as in at home, to stop u from needing to go there in the first place.

Vaccine is still available, I can't force people to take it. If they wanna get rel sick be my guest, but our freedoms cannot depend on them.
If things get back and they overflow the hospitals then I hope they prioritize the vaccinated first.
As far as I'm aware Couva is using Paxlovid to keep patients out of HDU and ICU.
