if you watch that vid there is a big culvert below, seems to be one of those places where there may be a spring or drain on the land side of the road and the culvert drains it below the road to the cliff side.
further waters passing there will eat it out more

Could the earthquake yesterday have weakened structures which left it more likely to collapse due to heavy rain?

Saw a story on CNC3 where a baby almost lost its life due to a landslip which was said to be caused first by the quake which caused cracks in a retaining wall.

Can’t imagine how long they will take to fix this though . The amount of planning and delaying that will happen to stabilize there

Stupid suggestion.

Real solution: do this again while repairing the road.

Definitely possible. That road even with the bailey bridge does not look safe right now.

If you're referring to my earlier post, that photo is from four years ago on the North Coast Road near Maracas Beach.

close the dam road, close the beach, leave it for the 1% that have they yatch. move out all the locals who is a blight on the turtle nesting population. all in all let the locals settle for chaguaramas and caroni swamp in the west/central and toco/manazan/mayaro in the east. maracas an tyrico bay is a good sheltered bay for the 1% and their elite families. drink allyuh rum and eat yuh bake an shark in elsewhere.

who want to build bridge feel them is engineer now, from CMO and virologist during the covid. proving the statement that empty vessels make the most noise. idiot.

This slippage is within eyesight of a similar failure that occured in 2018.

The MoW is about to erect a Baily Bridge.

Don't hate just because you are uninformed.

Image

The Minister and the Works Ministry have confirmed there has been a major landslip of the North Coast Road at a location between the look and Maracas Bay, after Friday's heavy rainfall.

And similar to a previous such partial road collapse in 2018, the a Bailey Bridge is to be put in place in at the new site until it can be fully restored.
