*** LF: Old School Dub Instrumental Song ***

Postby rrotsmannick » October 3rd, 2018, 2:32 pm

Hi all,

Need some help in finding a song. It is a old school dub song, but the song has no lyrics, just a instrumental. Similar to this instrumental soca:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ULFecP4QFM

It has a nice beat, the beat on the bass is like 'Boop boop' 'Boop boop' 'Boop boop' 'Boop boop boop boop boop'
And it has like a vilolin playing. It was very popular in the 90s...................

Any help to the song would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is probably a song with an artist singing on the riddim. You probably only heard the instrumental. Unless its a band like Taxi Gang or check riddims from producers like Xterminator(Fattis) or Bobby Digital etc

My guess

Thanks people...........
But none of these are the song.
@Coppershot - I have never heard any other song on the riddim. I believe it is an instrumental only.
@ru$$el - Instrumental is similar, probably from the same era of music but that is not it
@kavanonho - Thanks but that is not it either

The beat is similar to this beat -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0byCvz17rt0

I could try to hum the tune and upload here, it may help to find the song

you'll have to come with a sample like that or something, there's no way to tell what riddim you're speaking of as it'll be guessing wildly

OP which era exactly,
1. "1970s usually plenty noise in background"
2. "before the sleng teng rididm (digital era) pre-1985"
3. "early shabba dirtsman tiger era (early 91,92)"
4. "vegas, red rat era (97)"

It possible the riddim could be from another region like France, Africa or Japan.
Also some riddim are older, and a newer producer speed it up or slow it down in later years or add in new instrumentals.

(variations of same riddim below)
e.g. Night Nurse aka Doctors Darling

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3JQPvvCxDA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5paJp4BUDA (slow down to 0.75x on youtube during chorus)

e.g Alibaba Riddim
