WTK Importing Car

i would like to know if it is possible to import a car 10 years old from japan to use just for parts. the car is like $500 USD and i can get real parts out of it. how would i go about bring this to trinidad?

It has to be dismantled and brought in as parts. Remove the engine ,transmission and suspension.The parts removed can be sent separately in the same shipment. There is no duty payable on a body shell, only on the other parts. Best thing is to get someone who is bringing a container or who bring parts to import it for you to save on the shipping. I imported one like this recently, but from the USA, on a pallet. No shipping container.

The shell was put on a crate or the engine tranny suspension etc..? Can u inbox some details wrt shipping company ..cost etc..thanks

I nailed four pallets together strapped it with two pieces of 2x4 and I tied the shell onto it with two rachet tie down straps. It was an old American car, so the weight was high. To crate it was costing over $800 usd. Cost me usd with the hammer, wood and nails from Home Depot. the shipping was $1000 usd. I only paid vat after that. In my case I didnt bring the engine . If you do bring the engine, you pay duty on motor car parts plus vat.
