This bond offering was engineered for individuals with a few million lying around in the bank to invest. I doubt there will be much uptake from the small investor. Curious to see what happens if the high net worth individuals cause it to be oversubscribed and institutional investors (like UTC, NIB, credit unions, etc) get crowded out.

there is also a limit to how much one can invest at a time, max 50K iirc, but that's about the only limitations to investing as far as I've heard
so if a company has a couple million to invest it can be done. it will take several purchases but could be done relatively quickly. would take approximately 40 transactions to purchase 2 million in bonds. less if multiple purchases made on the same day from different brokers, but idk if there is anything in place to prevent this from happening.

In the prospectus the allocation policy says individuals will get priority over all other categories of investors so a high net worth person could apply for a couple million dollars worth of bonds and crowd out the institutional investors.

From Page 46 of the prospectus:
If the Offer of any of the Series of Bonds is oversubscribed, consistent with the policy of promoting the widest possible participation in the ownership of the Bonds, priority to receive the allocation applied for shall be given to applications by individuals.

Stewart Young mentioned in the post cabinet news conference that all three series of bonds were oversubscribed.

Says he. All bonds sold out, within a month. I'd advise you to take the utterances of ANY Trini politician with a bucket of salt.
How much you want to bet, within the next 12 months they offer to issue more bonds citing how well the last batch were received?

According to Imbert, bonds oversubscribed by 50% so they got applications totaling 6 billion for 4 billion worth of bonds.

Curious to see if the institutional investors will get crowded out since individuals will get priority over them.

Unless there is an unprecedented catastrophic failure Republic Bank is poised to become a BEHEMOTH. They are the largest bank in Guyana and are on the verge of buying one of the largest, if not the largest bank in the Caymans.

In 10 years time, maybe less, RFHL stock price could easily triple! RFHL and by extension CIF are probably the best local buys on the market right now.

Splits work out that the value of the holding does not change.

So if its a 2 for 1 split you will have twice as many shares at half the price.

It will make no difference.

And yes, splits often causes price appreciation as the lower price makes the stock accessible to more investors which can result in more demand. The value of the stock remains unchanged though.

The NIF % payout will remain the same split or no split.
