Medical intern removed after Facebook racial rant

A medical intern has been removed from active duty after concerns were raised by the Trinidad and Tobago Medical Association over racist comments she allegedly made online.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh confirmed that she was removed from duty on Tuesday.

Deyalsingh told reporters that a full investigation has been launched in the matter.

“That particular doctor is an intern; therefore, she falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health. As of this morning, she had been removed from all clinical duties. She will have no contact  with patients or her peers. The Chief Medical Officer in conjunction with Professor Terrence Mungal of the Medical Board will take the matter further,” he said.

The medical intern, who is attached to a public hospital allegedly posted several racist comments to local Facebook pages and on her own Facebook profile over the weekend.

The woman allegedly commented, "These c**lies in this country can never change. They are the ones eating flesh and drinking blood across the land as they have no regard for the precious blood of Jesus. There is no hope for them and they shall be judged accordingly to the Holy Bible."

That wasn't the only time she made statements like that on facebook though. Her entire post history is littered with Jamaican racist inferiority complex. Quite abhorrent. How many patients has she abused with that behaviour?

We really don't need those attitudes from Health Care Professionals in this country in 2018. Send her back home to face her heritage and identity struggles with Mother Africa.
