Fair point. As a kid we were more interested in the ability of the doors to open and shut and not the accuracy of the body lines. Funny how our perspective changes as we grow older.
BTW, does anyone remember the Corgi brand of die cast cars? I had a few when I was younger (about 50 years ago) and just wondered if anyone still had some of these models.

Corgi still does 1:43 and 1:36 cars. I don't think they do 1:64 anymore
I've bought a few in recent years. They do stuff like limited edition specials, 007, Beatles, etc

Nice model car channel from a friend of mine
He's been showcasing 1:18s from his collection, and has started a few from other collectors

A few of my faves:

I was at Gulf City Toymart yesterday to get something for my son. Saw they had the McLaren Speedtail and the newnewnew Batmobile in their Hot Wheels selection.

I was on a budget so I couldn't buy them. Bummer.

Don’t learn the hard way like me
If you’re putting cars into long term storage, remove all the bands and straps, and invest in desiccant pouches to protect the paint and tyres
Tyre also get mold

Whoa….is that the plastic strap that melted into the paint? Shite. You’ve got to get that display shelf built so you can take those babies out of their boxes.

After it sat in my collection for 12 years, my 1 year old decided it was time for it to become a toy car. Opened the packaging neatly, drove it around then abandoned it.

I have a first gen that came apart from being close to sun light.
Not ashamed but I did drive it around a bit and then neatly applied some Elmer's and glued him back in place. Unless someone dusts for prints, it untouched.

I was lucky to get both, my son has a huge hot wheels collection with the 1:64 cars, and some of the larger cars.
I had a couple Corgis back in the day, liked those a lot. I have the batmobile Hotwheels collection of pretty much all the movie cars.

Hey that’s a mirror, don’t get fooled, though there are some duplicates.

No plans for more shelves, it’s all for my son.
