Not even laminated , its sort of a plastic/ paper coating. When the water gets to the joint , it swells from there.

The laminate is a protective coating so the water or moisture doesn't soak in to swell the mdf. From my experience once the edges are sealed properly the mdf stands out strong. If you planning on taking a hose to soak down the vanity cabinet is a different story. But everyday use and small amounts of water on the cabinet doesn't affect it. I have even used plain mdf in over sink vanity sealed and painted lasting five years and counting.

Not looking to step on anybody business pitch, but as a man that now finish building, save yourself the hassle and get a ready made vanity. Good variety at ABC in el socorro and maybe Ali's in marabella.
You will have to get someone to fabricate the wood working part, then the counter top then the plumbing.
A ready made one might cost more, but will save you real time and headache

It works good , nearly everything now is made with it. Also, your plumbing not supposed to have leaks , but it isn't very water resistant.

I find that the ready made ones not strong or well built. The minute anything touches it the surface is damaged. Shake it too hard and the joints get loose. The cost is very high too, almost $10 g for the bigger ones. The best thing is to make it out of hardwood. Teak or Mahogany or any similar wood works well . I had some made with wood and used Granite on the top, cost less than ABC and got what I wanted . Getting good wood-work men is pressure though.

Yeah, cheaper to have frames built and buy doors from young sing or elsewhere and paint or finish yourself if you can

I get solid panel cupboard doors made for $ .65 per sq in. Material incl. You only have to seal and varnish. They also have panelling ,all patterns so you can get the frames built, with solid facing, panelling on the sides and solid doors at a fraction of the cost of the expensive Chinese ones. I gong to put a pic of the doors in a while.

Oh and you can get granite tops complete with the cut outs for the sink/s cheap .

Classic Tiles and ABC has some patterns for $1000 up , depends on what colour you want , careful with the coral red by classic though . The colour varies on some of them ,so if you using more than one ,the difference might show.

Water resistant does not mean water proof. So while your claim may be correct, I would stay away from using laminated MDF from a vanity, or at least the base of the vanity.
Plumbing leaks will develop over time from various sources:
Flexible hose failure
Angle valve failure
Faucet failure (some mixer types will reroute the water back through the spout when the aerator gets blocked up)
Blocked trap (causing the water to back up and leak through the access hole for the ball and rod on pop up type wastes)
and you will most likely not notice the leak until the MDF is saturated!

Anything that carries a sink, avoid using anything laminated or MDF.

Use lumber; teak, cedar, mahogany etc!
