Whats going on with Pricesmart online shopping ?

Postby hong kong phooey » October 17th, 2017, 4:17 am

I was now looking online to purchase a table saw and saw that pricesmart has shut down its online shopping. It does not have any thing to do with our Forex situation or our government or kamla, because it took place throughout all its operations.

They probably have a new policy on members only to see their things. You will now have to make an online account and sign in to see the items.

It does not work through a web proxy also, so it's not just Trinidad location.

Maybe some of you should STOP supporting PS and start buying from local companies!

Yes, instead of buying your imported groceries from PS, buy your imported groceries from Massy/Tru Valu/Xtra Foods at a higher cost.

Sense!!

highly recommend reading this press release, particularly the wall of text near the end.

PS basically lists all the problems with running a retail store in Latin America & the Caribbean.

Changes to terms and conditions Mon 24th June 2021:
a. All Memberships will be valid for one (1) year as of the affiliation date or as of the date when each Membership renewal payment is made, whichever occurs last (except for those memberships that are registered under the automatic payment program).
Automatic Payment- a. The Primary Member will have the option to register a credit or debit card when creating the digital register by which means the Membership renewal payment may be paid automatically. By including the payment method (card) in the digital register, it is understood that the membership is in the Automatic Payment program, and will have a validity of one (1) year to be counted as of the date of joining the automatic payment program. However, the automatic payment may be processed at any time within the fifteen (15) days prior to the anniversary date (“Renewal Period”).
b. If the Membership payment cannot be made within the Renewal Period, or if the Member does not have a valid credit or debit card registered at PriceSmart, the Membership will be suspended.
c. In the event that the Primary Member wishes to suspend the Automatic Payment program, they must unlink or eliminate the payment method (card) associated with their account, otherwise the corresponding charge will continue to be made automatically.

TL/DR: Automatic obligatory renewal whether you.re using the card or not.

They ever expand their home delivery range? It seems limited.
