Volunteers for projects are minimum. You have to pay people

Too bad the money never makes it in that direction

Cuz the climate change lobby iznt really interested in the planet or people. Yet they've duped millions into believing in the new climate religion.

Believing that millions think that climate change iz a new religion iz simple minded at best.

Not saying it's a religion, but to the average person, and added tax is just another burden

In the UK people will have to seek solace in places other rather than the venerable UK institution called a pub. Becuz of shortsighted climate change alarmism quite a lot of pubs will close because of the high cost of 'clean' energy which has seen some establishment heating bills increase by 300%+.

Thiz effect iz also going to affect quite a lot of other small businesses and sole proprietorships such as bakeries, butchers, etc which are the backbone of developed economies.

How's that for a non intended effect of Big Climate lobbying? No lickas for u.

Pubs closure warning: 'My energy bill went to £35,000 from £13,000'

Pubs across the UK will be forced to close due to energy costs soaring by as much as 300%, brewery bosses have said.

Leaders of six of the country's largest breweries have called for "immediate government intervention" on sky-high energy bills this winter.

The landlord of one pub in Essex told the BBC that his energy costs had risen from about £13,000 a year to £35,000.

Pub owners said the energy crisis would cause "real and serious irreversible" damage to the industry without support.

Southern China last month sweltered under what experts said may have been one of the worst heat waves in global history, with parts of Sichuan province and the megacity of Chongqing clocking a string of days well over 40° C (104° F).

The average temperature nationwide was 22.4° C in August, exceeding the norm by 1.2° C, state broadcaster CCTV reported, citing the country's weather service.

Some 267 weather stations across the country matched or broke temperature records last month, the report said.

It was also China's third-driest August on record, with average rainfall 23.1 percent lower than average.

"The average number of high-temperature days was abnormally high, and regional high-temperature processes are continuing to impact our country," CCTV reported the weather service as saying.

Scientists say extreme weather like heat waves, droughts and flash floods is becoming more frequent and intense due to human-induced climate change.

Last month, temperatures as high as 45° C prompted multiple Chinese provinces to impose power cuts as cities battled to cope with a surge in electricity demand partly driven by people cranking up the air conditioning.

Images from Chongqing showed a tributary of the mighty Yangtze river had almost run dry, a scene echoed further east where the waters of China's largest freshwater lake also receded extensively.

Not really. Thats exactly what it iz. Maybe not for 100% but for a vocal majority.

One reason to believe that iz that any effort to suggest alternative solutions to the Big Climate lobby's primary solution iz rebuffed az heretical.

According to the Big Climate lobby there's only one path to climate salvation. That path involves spending trillions to assuage climate change.

That maybe true....never claimed 2b original. But the analogy has stuck.

The Big Climate Change lobby has nothing of substance. Only doctrine...scare tactics and an average marketing campaign.

But look on the bright side.

At least I don't repeatedly post the same tired climate change media articles claiming everything wrong in the world today iz due to Anthropogenic Climate Change...and there's a multi trillion $ solution to fix it.

Of course you and your climate change friends don't ever say from where thiz money will come...  take one guess...

this is a good article

They started out innocuously and predictably enough. Bitcoin or ethereum? Virtual reality or augmented reality? Who will get quantum computing first, China or Google? Eventually, they edged into their real topic of concern: New Zealand or Alaska? Which region would be less affected by the coming climate crisis? It only got worse from there. Which was the greater threat: global warming or biological warfare? How long should one plan to be able to survive with no outside help? Should a shelter have its own air supply? What was the likelihood of groundwater contamination? Finally, the CEO of a brokerage house explained that he had nearly completed building his own underground bunker system, and asked: “How do I maintain authority over my security force after the event?” The event. That was their euphemism for the environmental collapse, social unrest, nuclear explosion, solar storm, unstoppable virus, or malicious computer hack that takes everything down.

that’s a good article
more than a few apocalyptic movies have been made with similar themes about survival

a recent one was snowpiercer
the reality is no single person or group will be able to do their own thing to survive
no amount of bunkers or self contained living will be possible

At a time of economic uncertainty, the legislation gives companies more confidence that they can earn a return on their bets. The investments serve as affirmation of political leaders’ intent: to further accelerate America’s transition away from fossil fuels and to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers, especially those in China.

Investment in renewable energy will total $1.2 trillion by 2035, analysts at Wood Mackenzie estimate, substantially more than would have been the case without the legislation. Spending on solar power installations, for example, will be two-thirds higher because of the law, according to the consultancy.

“We’ve seen an outpouring of interest from all kinds of companies,” including carmakers, battery suppliers and mining companies, said Isaac Chan, a partner in the Chicago office of the management consultancy Roland Berger who advises clients in the auto industry. The climate package, he said, “makes the calculus better for producing in North America as opposed to making E.V.s in Asia and importing them.”

The unprecedented flooding in Pakistan has killed more than 1,300 people and affected some 33 million since it began in June. Government relief efforts are underway and international aid and supplies are starting to enter the country.

Much of Sindh and parts of Balochistan have become a vast landscape of water, with displaced locals huddled miserably on elevated roads, rail tracks and other high ground.

Human and animal waste in the fetid water attracts swarms of flies, while outbreaks of dengue are being reported from mosquitos breeding in the swamplands.

Don't you just love how the Climate Change lobby drives up the price of everything? Now going to the toilet will likely get more expensive.

In the clean energy netzero reaching first world clean energy prosperous nation of Germany not only will there be more wood burning stoves and skyrocketing energy prices thiz winter...there will also likely be less toilet paper. One of the country's largest toilet paper manufacturers filed for bankruptcy citing high energy prices.

What a dump...
Image
Toilet paper manufacturer Hakle files for bankruptcy

No, not the pasta, but the toilet paper got it. Ironically, the German second major object of desire in the peak phase of the corona pandemic is now causing a well-known renovation case. Not long ago it was hoarded, hoarded and stacked. That should have been for the financial well-being of the manufacturer, one might have thought. But the world of sanitary paper is obviously quite confused. First the plague and the hoarding, which resulted in an acceleration of production. Then the cost explosion because of the Ukraine war and its aftermath.

In any case, the toilet manufacturer Hakle gives the latter on its home page as a reason for having applied for insolvency proceedings in self-administration at the District Court of Düsseldorf. Such insolvency proceedings are not the end of a company. Hakle will continue to exist, as will toilet paper and the Hakle Feucht and Servus brands. The management also remains in office, only a trustee is placed at his side. Above all, he looks at how the company can get its costs under control again.

Thiz winter ppl in Europe would love to have health and ecosystem harming coal fired plants. At least they will be warm not broke and alive.

The Big Climate lobby never tells you thiz fact: more people die from cold than heat by approx. 4x-20x.

Governments and companies in Europe so believed the green energy net zero nancy story that more of them are likely to go bust/run higher deficits if they don't freeze to death first.

There's a 1.5 trillion notional hole in Europe that needs patching. This story wont have a happy ending.
Europe power firms need 1.5 trillion euros in margin calls, Equinor says

LONDON, Sept 6 (Reuters) - European energy companies need at least 1.5 trillion euros ($1.5 trillion) to cover the cost of their exposure to soaring gas prices, Norwegian energy group Equinor has estimated, and that does not include firms in Britain.

Several European countries are providing billions of euros in support to power suppliers caught out by extra collateral payments on their trades - known as margin calls - but Equinor's estimate suggests such support is a fraction of the overall bill.

Govt should mandate this for all companies making bottles- hundreds of these end up in the drains and then as 10 mins of rain fall is flood.

another idea- perhaps also place a small rfid tag on it and receivers on all major rivers- if u pay for it with linx/card it is tracked and if it ends up in a river u get a fine.

Plastic bottles in many other places have a deposit. That is simple to do and many people collect the bottles for return.

The new research looked at 188 speeches, memos, articles, ads, and other industry documents from 1968 to 2019 that mentioned climate change, carbon dioxide, or other climate-related keywords. It isn’t the first study to look at the role of utilities in climate denial: The Brown University sociologist Robert Brulle and the Energy and Policy Institute, an energy-industry watchdog, have both done so.

Together, the three studies clarify the root of that opposition. Electricity companies saw themselves as part of a coalition that included their biggest suppliers—namely coal and natural-gas firms—and their biggest customers—steel companies and heavy manufacturers. Freight railroads, which move coal around the country, joined the coalition as well. Because climate policy posed an existential danger to coal and other fossil fuels, utilities saw it as a threat to their own business. (But of course electricity can be generated in cleaner ways too.)

This is the first peer-reviewed publication to survey the industry’s messaging specifically, Dave Anderson, an author of the Energy and Policy Institute report, told me. “This is a very important study,” says Naomi Oreskes, a Harvard science historian who has researched on the fossil-fuel industry’s climate denial, and was not involved in the study. “It reminds us that climate disinformation has not been the domain of just one, or even a handful, of fossil-fuel companies, but has been perpetuated by a network of cronyistic industries that support and depend on fossil fuels,” she told me.

Neither the Edison Electric Institute nor the Electric Power Research Institute denied the new study’s findings.

The Copernicus Climate Change Service said the data showed August in Europe was the warmest on record by "a substantial margin."

Globally, the researchers say August was the third warmest yet recorded.

It will come as no surprise to anyone who experienced this summer's intense heat across the continent that the temperature record across Europe has been broken by a large margin.

According to data from Copernicus, this year saw a new record for both the summer as a whole and for the month of August.

The summer was 0.4C warmer than the previous record, only set last year.

August was a whopping 0.8C warmer than the same month in 2018.

When asked why they do thiz they claim they don’t get enuf attention.
