just so you know it not just in the airport it throughout the country
but the laws states resembling the defense force which is green camo so i guess brown camo and black camo is legal. i might be wrong though.
A: It is illegal to wear or import any item of clothing resembling the uniform of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force...

Summary Offences Act 1921, as amended
98. (1) A person not serving in the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force shall not wear, without the Minister’s permission, the uniform of any member of that Force, or any dress having the appearance or bearing any of the regimental or other distinctive marks of any such uniform: This enactment shall not prevent any person from wearing any uniform or dress in the course of a stage play performed in a place duly licensed or authorised for the public performance of stage plays, or in the course of any bona fide military representation.
(2) Any person who contravenes this section is liable to a fine of two hundred dollars.
(3) Any person not serving in the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force who wears, without the Minister’s permission, the uniform of any member of those Forces, or any dress having the appearance or bearing any of the regimental or other distinctive marks of any such uniform, in such a manner or under such circumstances as to be likely to bring contempt upon that uniform, or employs any other person so to wear that uniform or dress, he shall be liable to a fine of four hundred dollars.

Defence Force Act 1962, as amended
219. A person, other than a member of the Defence Force, who without lawful excuse (the proof whereof shall lie on him)—
(a) wears the uniform or any portion of the uniforms of a member of the Defence Force; or
(b) wears any costume or any article of clothing or apparel so closely resembling the uniform or any portion thereof of a member of the Defence Force, as may cause such person to be mistaken for a member of the Defence Force, is liable on summary conviction to a fine of one thousand dollars and to imprisonment for eighteen months.

This law is so dotish eh.....I mean I understand that if you have camouflage UNIFORMS in your possession that it's a charge but a t-shirt or a short pants? This is enforced rather one sided though, because you never see police or army confiscating a bikini from anyone. They rock back and take in dat ass.....but God forbid you wearing a tshirt and some little part has a camo design, GOD forbid!

With that said, I would one day like to own a piece of clothing with a camo design on it.

If that's the law in total...it says WEAR.

It says nothing about own,or possess.

Also....since AFAIK...TTDF don't wear short pants,Pum pum shorts or high heels ....(officially)

How do those items resemble the uniform.

It's not beat up really. Think about it and really think for a second, you buy a piece of clothing that has designs on it, whether small or large and these designs just happen to be camouflage in appearance.....then you have it taken away from you. Seized!
It's not the uniform, it's clothes from a retail store. You think that's fair? You know how much times I've seen shoes and t-shirts and even pants with a little piece of camo on it and wanted it but had to say, "nah Trinidad just fail, forget dat."

Why is pink camo illegal ?

Army have pink camo?

They does be hiding in cherry blossoms and poui tree?
Or do they just break out the pink camo for the Christmas dark-room-grab-ass party

Camouflage is illegal in all of the English Caribbean and most African countries. Revolutionary forces and all that identification stuff.

I personally don't see a problem with that law because of all the crime going on here, but I suppose the only valid reason for a civvie to possess it would be for legal hunting. Other than that it would be better to just keep such articles as ONLY the uniform and equipments for operations of the TTDF. They should switch to the digital pattern though and keep up with times.

We don't have the freedom of speech in this country however! It's an infringement of the USA's 1st Amendment to ban certain clothing. But nothing so in Trinidad or the English Caribbean. We never fight for it. The law was just given to us by a senile British Empire.
