Crime is not new to Trinidad and Tobago, as heinous acts have been committed over the last 20 years, says Government Minister Fitzgerald Hinds.
“We have a crime epidemic, so the motion (in Parliament) calls it, but I am saying what we see happening now is now new, Member for Chaguanas East. If you look at the headlines in this country over the last 20 years, screaming headlines about crime, who lost their head, which baby get killed, I mean this is not new,” he said in his contribution to the Opposition’s private motion on the crime epidemic which was debated at the Parliament sitting yesterday.
Hinds, the newly appointed Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General, said heinous crimes are not committed in T&T alone, pointing out that he read of a case in Russia where one man killed 54 people and ate their entrails.
He said there is a “new phenomenon” on the horizon where global drug trafficking is becoming more sophisticated.

Failure to control one's sexual desire and lack of respect for a 12 year old?
10-01 wrote:oday, new evidence has emerged showing that 13-year-old Videsh Subar and his caretaker 56-year-old Rose Mohammed were terrorised during the home invasion on Wednesday, which cut their lives short.
Autopsy results revealed that the 56-year-old victim may have been raped during the ordeal.
Dr Valerie Alexandrov, who conducted the autopsies on both victims at the Forensic Science Centre St James, said he got the impression that Mohammed was raped as her underwear was torn and her clothing forcefully removed.
The pathologist also explained that Mohammed’s hands were tied with her own bra and a cord from a phone charger.
Her legs were tied with torn bed linen at the ankles and her throat was slit with a large knife.
Meanwhile, Dr Alexandrov said 13-year-old Videsh never stood a chance as his killer used such force to slit his throat that it scarred his vertebra, which is the bone at the top of his spinal column.
The child’s mouth was gagged with transparent scotch tape. His hands were tied to the bed with a shoe lace and his legs were bound by rubber cords.
The pathologist said based on the evidence, it is likely that it was a robbery which went awry.
“It looks to me [as though] it was a regular robbery which, for whatever reason, went sour because the perpetrators, they did not bring anything with them so what they used to immobilise the victims, to tie them up, they were using what was available in the house.”
The police report states that Mohammed’s vehicle, a quantity of jewellery, an undisclosed sum of cash, an assortment of tools and a flat screen television were stolen.
Police recovered the stolen vehicle in Wallerfield, two hours after the incident had occurred.
The killers reportedly used gas from the vehicle and doused the driver’s seat and set it ablaze.
However, only the driver’s seat, parts of the steering wheel and driver’s door were burnt.
Police are also examining the theory that the murders may have been linked to a robbery which occurred 8 years ago at Mohammed's Ajim Baskh Street home, in which the suspects were imprisoned and recently released.
No arrests have yet been made.

Revolving Door Rasta went to see first world policing in the US. What he brought back for implementation here, besides stupid talk?

PNM is untouchable in this country, their supporter base is more than happy with the blame game and empty positions taken by their tribe, the games gonna continue. Put things in place for the safety for you and your family. Nothing is going to change soon.........

These rapists need to be brutally beaten, with their genitals removed and then hanged on the lamp posts for the country to see. We must look at these rapists hanging high and tell their families cry elsewhere.
Mass immediate executions are needed.
