Chevy Diesel 1.8T Captivas

Postby Ben_spanna » January 27th, 2017, 2:48 pm

Does anyone know of past/current Common problems that the Chevy Captiva 1.8Turbo Diesel SUV's have? been considering one but I do not want to get caught up in any problematic vehicles.

The captivas are 2.2T not 1.8

We have had ours for 2 years. No issues to date.

2.2T, all bushings below were replaced after 6 years which isn't anything problematic, turbo appears to be going but still works well, I spoke with a fellow tuner this week to repair it and the cost was estimated at $4500 to rebuild with warranty, other than that no issues just basic maintenance.

There is nothing wrong with ANY of the brands that Lifestyle Motors sell BUT their Service and Parts Department is a TOTAL waste of time. Salesmen will make you guarantees that service and parts cannot uphold. If your intention is to buy and maintain yourself and source your parts elsewhere then go ahead but if you intend to keep your warranty I advise you look elsewhere. There are many people who will attest to this. They have caused untold frustration to numerous people not to mention causing many to become paupers by their exorbitant costs for parts and service.

my first new vehicle was a GV from lifestyle.
At that time a ms Barnes was my contact in service.
My service experience with them was not perfect, but was excellent in my opinion, keeping in mind I never dealt with any other service department before.
When I replaced the GV I would have gone back to them just because of the service I got,but they didn't have a midsize diesel SUV.
Oh and Crystal too,she helped soo much in service.
