recognising bmobile cellphone bill as a utility bill

Postby xtrail3 » January 24th, 2017, 4:02 pm

Was told today by a CSR at massy that a bmobile post paid Bill is not considered a utility bill( I applied for a refund of my deposit on a vehicle).

This is news to me since I usually use these bills at many other instances when a utility bill was required with no issue.

Happened to be in bmobile after and asked the information desk who said it's usual for people to come in for an updated cell bill for this purpose.

Yea I can use a wasa or ttec but wish I knew this before.

Of course I questioned their stupid policy and was given some flimsy excuse about people could take their cell phone anywhere and send a bill to another address.

Um. Whatever yes. Anyhow, take note

I stand to be corrected but I know it's usually light bill and wate bill are accepted as utility bills......in my recent experience some places accept flow and I'm glad since this is in my name and the other so called 'utility' bills are in my parents name.
I know phone nor cable should be classified as utility bills but I get away with it at most institutions/offices

The only bill that ever came in my name was a Post Paid phone bill (stopped in 2014 when I qualified for a company paid phone).
Both FCB and Ansa Merchant Bank accepted it during successful loan applications.
In purchasing my most recent car in 2015 Scotia actually accepted my credit card monthly statement as a utility bill and then I had to get a signed letter from my dad concerning utilities along with a TTEC bill.

If its to make money for themselves I find they generally open to variety.

yup. digicel initially didnt want to take the bmobile bill as a utility.
told them it's the only bill that comes to the house in my name, and they cooperated.

Bmobile bill isn't always accepted because the service is not tied to an address (example water, electricity connection, cable connection ). Since they want to verify that it's a valid address that is associated with you.

Is OP gonna change his username now as well? Everyplace would beat up to give you a refund just out of spite these days. Doesn't matter if it their fault or yours.
