Best you bring in your own. Better specs and price in the end.

Any recommendations on the placement of PTZ cameras with tracking versus fixed cameras ? Do they still go on a corner of the house ?

Anyone knows how to do a password reset on a HIK VISION-DS-7208HQHI-K1 ?

Tried all the online applications to no avail. Purchased the house with the system and the previous owner does not remember the password.

Contacted HIK VISION and they said my product was not purchased in the USA so they can't help.

Have a newish Samsung Smart TV. Every other screen at home with internet connection and phones can connect to the Amcrest View Pro App , with the exception of this TV.

TCL Roku TV was connected for a few minutes and it can show the camera system with no hard wiring.

Any assistance would be helpful .

Hello,

Send a message to tech.support in india with the serial of the dvr. You have to import a key to save to desktop, and send key with serial of DVR.
In 3 or so hrs, they will email you with an encryption key to export on SADPTOOLS. Export file and create new password

Im not a pro-I have only had to fiddle with the system once since original install.
I hard wired the older Samsung TV -since everything else is wireless.
Also I used Amcrest Link (not Pro) cuz the pro was not connecting- there are multiple Amcrest apps ..I installed 2 or 3 on the 2009 vintage Ipad 2 to get it to connect.

2 iphones,1 Samsung (hard wired), One 2009 Ipad and one 2019 ipad and one android phone use whichever app worked.

Their customer service worked flawlessly on that single fiddle.

Looking for a reliable dvr to start my camera system. Got a few Hikvision 1080p cameras (dome and bullet) from my brother who had a few extra after his install.
Would like to get a clean color image as my parents need to be able to see the footage clearly day and night.
What's a good brand, average pricing and what should I look for in sourcing this dvr?

Hi guys, all of a sudden my cameras started moving laggy (both recording and live version). The setup has two streams (one low and one with full resolution.

The setup a mix of cameras (aixs and hikvision) cameras have their own swtich that goes to the server where the VMS and storage is housed

Where should I start btw this has been working fine for years now

RAM or Storage? As for RAM the NVR has 16gigs, for storage we running 16TB.

Nothing changed with the configuration it just started happening, even in live view

scan the hard drive. could be the hard drive going bad or has bad sectors. at times systems do a check disk to check the integrity of the disk and that can take a while depending on size. pop out the drives and slave it on a desktop and run check disk or any manufacturer diagnostic.

Issue has been solved, Cams are back to normal.

While running maintenance on my VM host I noticed that the camera NIC was working 100mbps, when it should have been 1000mbps.

Turns out the cable was the issue

Thanks all

Anybody knows a good outdoor driveway motion sensor device for intruders? Have to be simple to install...not complex wiring.

Change the coin cell battery on the board. Open the case to confirm the number on the battery first before you buy,.

unplug dvr before changing battery.

I’m able to view my hikvision nvr once I’m connected on the same network. From the time I leave the house and switch to lte I’m unable to view. What is the issue ?

Use the hik-connect app. No port forwarding needed.

There are a lot of videos on YouTube to guide you through the process.

The hik-connect app is actually more user friendly than the IVMS.
