Power outage today: Couva and environs

Postby salty_dawg » October 16th, 2016, 11:42 pm

As most central people were aware , there was a severe thunderstorm and lightening around lunchtime today. Causing disruption in the electricity supply.

During one of the lightening strike , my television ( connected to a surge protector and was off) made a noise. My tv never came back on. The fault code according to the red blinking light is that the power circuit is faulty.

Can anyone tell me if this occurred to any of their electronic items as well?? And what course of action can we possibly take ?

One way to protect your stuff in a severe thunder storm is pull your main breaker until it's over. Ttec would only accept responsibility for damage due to low voltage. They cannot protect against a lighting strike close to your house.
