Real Estate Lawyer

Postby fjsrl279 » August 22nd, 2016, 11:34 pm

Hello,

I will greatly appreciate any recommendations of any reputable real estate lawyers in North. What to buy land but i feel there might be something fishy about the land and the paper work associated with it. Thanks for your time and please feel free to provide any advice on the buying process.

I think the op wants firsthand info about who he wants to use. It's easy enough to look in the directory and choose a lawyer, but when you start to get problems it's a different story. I used D Hannays for years without problems, the do a comprehensive job , and can weed out any mistakes, even those that were previously registered. I used Badrie-Maharaj for the last five transactions I did and he's excellent . He even saved me 51g by applying for an exemption in stamp duty that I did not even know about, and he could have pocketed it for himself ,seeing that I was unaware. He is very thorough in his work and explains every step.

If you want a good one in south, try Capildeo Maharaj, he did a conveyance for me recently on a property i bought in a high court sale, that another lawyer had me tied up with ,giving me stories for two years ,until the file went into storage and made it real complicated. Capildeo applied to the courts to get the file and completed the whole transaction .

Hannays good but have some patience if you dealing with them. There office operates using practices from 30 years ago

I used HOBSONS also . Stanmore ave , port of Spain

The good thing is that you are assigned a law clerk so u have an individual to call for updates

Just advice....a search would tell u who are the owners now and prior.....if it seems fishy, visit the prior owners to verify they sold to the present ones.....just as a precautionary measure. Deeds are being registered fraudulently and lands of persons are being sold off easily...

........and when the court reverses the fraudulent one, you are left standing with no money and no land. There are persons in the registry and legal affairs in cahoots with them so it looks genuine.
