Dunno bout fresh water shrimp but you can get Pacific White Shrimp at SIDC on the UBH just before Munroe Road in Charlieville.
They are tank grown stuff. They offer them up when that have a production batch of suitable size.

93% sure that come from Thailand...nothing wrong with them, but they just don't taste like the stuff caught in the sea. plus they sometimes full of water when you get them :x

Yes...imported shrimp are treated with a preservative.

Fresh caught FTW!

1/4 inch mesh net is good - like those aluminum-framed nets sold in pet shops ...u don't want the small shrimp, only 1-inch & up...generally u wouldn't get bigger than 3-inches. U will need a long handled net & make sure the bucket has a cover because as soon as the caught shrimp settle down, they start jumping out.
If u hve a long travel time, bring a battery=operated air=pump for the return journey.
Should take u abt 30mins to collect approx 100-150 specimens....the time is to remove from the net without damaging them.
.
enjoy

I saw specimens of the malaysian prawn ? that Caroni had in the Brickfield project in the drains leading to the sea there. I guess the saltwater effect made it possible for them to survive properly.

Haven't bought any, I get free strimbs from otaheite. But from the other stuff I purchased the prices aren't bad. Can't give an individual price cause I usually buy several items at a time.

Nah...doh hutt up ur head...i just curious to know why they does move so hush-hush on the pricing. If you look thru the comments on their FB posts everyone asks for prices and they never post any, they just message you privately.

I dont buy frozen much stuff either.
Fresh local caught for me.

every once in a while La Vega 'gets' & puts in an aquarium for sale to customers who come there.
I think they harvest from the Gran Couva drainage system... but ppl overfish the area & now u lucky if u get 2 or 3 in a whole day searching.
