L.f. some advice on a house Reno am contemplating. Interested in removing a concrete post, supporting the associated horizontal beams with I beams, and I/h beams for vertical support posts. Can any1 tell me if this is possible and what sizes beams should b used? Trying to estimate d cost

its possible, but the size of beam & how many would be needed to support the structure would depend on the amount of weight they are expected to bear. these reno works to be done on an upper or lower storey?

1) Yes, it is possible.

2) To give advice on sizes, one needs to know:
(i) span of beam to be supported
(ii) construction details of beam to be supported (dimensions, concrete strength, reinforcing steel sizes and spacings)
(iii) location of beam to be supported
(iv) dimensioned plan of adjacent beams to beam to be supported
(v) use of area above beam to be supported
(vi) location of structure in order to determine foundation requirements for new column
