The committee showed video of former Attorney General Bill Barr saying that Trump's claims of fraud were "bogus" and "detached from reality," and called claims of Dominion voting machine fraud "idiotic."
Poor Guy. Dementia is a helluva drug. Biden same.Bill Barr told the committee that when discussing allegations of voting fraud tied to Dominion machines with Trump that he was “demoralized” because if “he really believes this … he’s become detached from reality if he really believes this stuff.”

Secret Service agents are prepared to testify that Trump did not lunge at them or try to take control of the car to reach the Capitol, reports say
- A former Trump ally aide said Trump lunged at Secret Service agents to try get to the Capitol on Jan. 6.
- The aide said Trump tried to grab the steering wheel and said "I'm the effing president!"
- CBS News and NBC News reported that agents are willing to testify against the allegations.
Secret Service agents are willing to testify that former President Donald Trump did not try to lunge at them or take control of the vehicle to direct the car to the Capitol as agents were driving on January 6, 2021, CBS News and NBC News reported.
Cassidy Hutchinson, a top aide to then-Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, told the House select committee investigating the January 6 riot on Tuesday that Trump wanted to go to the Capitol, knowing that his supporters were armed there.
It is unclear if the violent riot had unfolded at that point or if Trump was aware of it.
She said that Trump lunged at a Secret Service agent in the car, tried to grab the steering wheel, and said, "I'm the effing president!" as he demanded to be brought to the Capitol.
But one source close to the Secret Service told CBS News that both the driver of the car and Robert Engel — a Secret Service agent who was then the head of Trump's security detail — are prepared to testify under oath that Trump did not lunge at the car's steering wheel and that Trump did not verbally or physically assault them.
Anthony Guglielmi, a Secret Service spokesman, also told CBS News that the group "has been cooperating with the Select Committee since its inception in spring 2021, and will continue to do so, including by responding on the record to the Committee regarding the new allegations surfaced in today's testimony."
Peter Alexander, chief White House correspondent for NBC News, tweeted on Tuesday that a source close to the Secret Service told him that Engels and the driver "are prepared to testify under oath that neither man was assaulted and that Mr. Trump never lunged for the steering wheel."
Three agents who accompanied Trump that day also dispute the idea that he tried to grab the steering wheel or went after any agents, one current and one former law enforcement official told The Washington Post.
Some former Trump aides have described Hutchinson's allegations as damning, while others have sought to downplay her credibility, Insider's Kimberly Leonard, Warren Rojas, and Joseph Zeballos-Roig reported.

[Hutchinson] testified that she heard a secondhand account of how Trump was so enraged at his Secret Service detail for blocking him from going to the Capitol that he lunged to the front of his vehicle and tried to turn the wheel.
Tony Ornato, then-White House deputy chief of staff, told Hutchinson that Robert Engel, who was the Secret Service agent in charge on January 6, 2021, repeatedly told Trump on their way back to the White House after Trump's Ellipse speech that it wasn't safe to go to the Capitol, she said.
According to Hutchinson, Ornato recounted Trump screaming, "I'm the f**king President. Take me up to the Capitol now." Trump then "reached up toward the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel," Hutchinson remembered learning. She added that, according to Ornato, the former President used his other hand to "lunge" at Engel.
Engel and Ornato have both testified to the committee behind closed doors, but their statements were not used in Tuesday's hearing.
After the testimony, a Secret Service official familiar with the matter told CNN that Ornato denies telling Hutchinson that the former President grabbed the wheel or an agent on his detail.
The Secret Service, through the Department of Homeland Security office of legislative affairs, notified the committee Tuesday afternoon that it will make the agents involved available to testify under oath, the official said. The agents are also prepared to say under oath that the incident itself did not occur.

I did, it seems semi-reasonable on the surface, especially if you already buy into the claim of a stolen election. However, once you start to ask questions below the surface, it kinda falls apart (not the first time). Simple things like showing actual video of the same "mule" visiting 2 ballot drop off points (which they should if the mules had routes as claimed by their go-tagging), they can't provide. When I realised they didn't have that basic evidence, I tuned out entirely.
Ratings? Perhaps. It certainly started a buzz.Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:maj. tom wrote:She should not have testified to things that she did not witness. Hearsay from someone else. That is irrelevant to the hearing and gathering official evidence.
it's good for TV ratings though
