They quantities of oil versus mineral and softners, etc... are NOT the same as what you find in a shampoo or hair conditioner... beards are FACIAL hair and react differently to normal hair on your head. If you use normal conditioner on a beard, it makes the hair too soft to groom properly. Also different people have different texture, thickness, oiliness.... etc...
