Amplia (formerly Massy Fibre) Internet Thread

Postby SRASC » November 28th, 2015, 8:15 pm

Website isn't much help in terms of packages offered as far as internet, nor channels for the IPTV.

Was curious if anyone here knows more about this?

Wow ok those packages suck compared to Digicel Play.

If Massy's service/quality for their Fiber to the business is anything to go by I would NOT recommend them at all. Unreliable, slow and rude customer service.

Thanks but you don't need to worry about any of us switching to Massy.

Seeing that nobody besides people in POS and West Morrings will have access to their fibre anyways. All these companies offering fibre, nobody but Digicel seems to have coverage outside port of spain.

Looking good could do with that upload speed, but will stay with flow and see if they ante up.

Digicel: 25/5 for $200 50/10 for $370
Massy: 30/15 for $250 50/25 for $390
Flow: 30/3 for $300 50/5 for $400
etc

Prices not that bad considering the higher upload speeds, except Flow's which is way out of the game.
I would probably choose the $250 over the $200 package based on that alone.
If the service and support is worse than blink and flow, then yes the prices suck.

Digicel run cables through parts of Palmiste last month. Sure enough Flow was also there and 1 week later Massy pass to do the same. So maybe they trying.

^ you serious? Flow and Massy run Fibre in Palmiste?

hmmmm interesting, well lets hope they really trying in truth then. Massy is from what I can see, a RICH company. So it is likely they have the money to run fibre outside of POS.

What really ticks me off is the years that TSTT rip off people when they had the monopoly and today these fools have no coverage of their fibre. You would think by now they would have atleast have about 10% coverage.

Massy prices looking good, I am not too concerned about speed and price, more concerned about reliability. TSTT is $200 for 5MB which is the worst price in fibre, don't these people have their own submarine fibre line? yet Massy buying bandwidth and still offering 15MB for $200? for the price TSTT want I hope they have some kinda godly reliability compared to Digicel who giving you 5 times the speed for the same price.

Personally I was shocked at Massy packages. It really depends on what you want to do with your service really. But for me Digicel has the better deal.

Wait is Massy including TV in those packages? Need to compare line ups to flow and Digicel Play.

I had a conversation with the Massy CSR about the internet.

Sadly the information regarding coverage/ availability of this internet service is classified.

I can definitely confirm that our prices are VAT Inclusive and I would also like to assure you that our Customer Service is going to be second to none.

Well I still find it hard to believe Massy prices are Vat Inclusive. They cannot undersell Flow, they buying bandwidth. I mean Flow 15MB is $230 or so with Vat

Bmobile actually already had the biggest fibre layout before all this started because they have fibre run to every cell tower nationwide.

^ How come they never bothered to make use of all the fibre by rolling out a FTTH data network before Digicel?

Heck, right now TSTT sort of give up on the whole internet thing.

They have fibre to the cell towers, ok but infront my house Digicel has the actual black box on the pole to connect the fibre to my home, a huge difference. Every street on this side has Digicel contractors splicing and hard at work setting up the FTTH. TSTT is nowhere to be found, they just fooling everybody with their "largest fibre network in Trinidad" that they are only using for cell towers.

TSTT will take like 5 years to catch up to where Digicel is right now.

My FLOW Internet (only) connection is 15MB @ $199.99, l would rather go with a Digital package, pay the same thing and get more. Massy packages SUX, vat or no vat added.

^ I have 15MB from flow and I pay $230 or so because they charging vat separate even though their website says vat inclusive for some strange reason.

Flow for the win .. Pretty good so far and I am sure that flow will soon increase their packages without increasing cost.

well boy I sticking with flow, stellar performance from them so far. Hopefully the competition will cause flow to increase there package from 15mbs to 20 mbs for the 200 a month.
