A 17 year old schoolgirl was shot in her chest at an abandoned house in San Fernando on Wednesday allegedly used as a criminal den for sex with under-age girls and drug dealing.

The teen underwent emergency surgery at hospital, for the bullet wound which entered her back and exited near her right breast.

Witnesses told police the teenager, a pupil of a Marabella Secondary School, was seen entering the house at San Fernando Street at around 4.30 p.m. with a school boy and another man.

The schoolgirl had an argument with the two, and the man pulled a firearm.

She turned to leave the house when the man fired at her, she told police.

The school girl ran out of the house, bleeding from her chest, and begged for help from passersby.

The man and the boy was seen running away from the house.

Inspector Don Gajadhar and officers of the San Fernando CID and Southern Division Task Force responded, but no arrests were made.

The girl is warded at the San Fernando General Hospital in stable condition.

Early on Thursday, City Corporation officials went to the house and cleaned out debris including three mattresses.

i really sorry for this generation of kids yes ... when u use to lessons my dad use to come 30 mins before lessons finish for me .... he still does this if he has to pick us up anywher ...

Lmao. You could hold on to your pity. I travelled everywhere I had to go from the time I hit secondary school unless it was coming back from a lime real late in the night. Yeah I would have rather the luxury of having a chauffer but half of the best school days limes was in the maxi on the way home.

I sorry for the children of helicopter parents. I'm scared that they won't know what to do with themselves when they no longer have that supervision when they move out.
