1G Internet at home: What would you do with it?

Postby nismodriver » August 27th, 2015, 1:55 pm

If you got 1Gig Internet at home, what would you do with it?
Maybe finally a 4K TV?

I can stream 4K with my 15Mb/s connection just fine. Online streaming is compressed 4K video, its not real uncompressed 4K.

If I had 1Gb/s internet I would sell WIFI to people in my area. Beyond that its incredibly useless quite honestly, the only way you can do something with that is if the upload is 1G aswell. You could maybe do a hosting business or something.

^ I eh know nah, maybe buy a Blu Ray burner and download 1000 Terabytes of 4K porn, so then I could disconnect it after 1 month and go back to paying $200 for 15mb?

First thing I'll watch every single porno on the internet. Second thing I'll download every porno on the internet. Third thing I'll burn 5 porno on one DVD and sell it for $10. I will start retailing, then wholesaling. I would franchise into Guyana, Venezuela and Suriname. Then I will quite my job and see to export these DVDs on an internationally. After making millions, I'll buy a house in Tobago and 4 maxi to put on the road...to secure me in the event my business takes a downfall. When I have had enough...I'll retire and swim in my money like that duck from duck tales.

similar to above^

download all online porn and sell them on dvd.
eventually start shooting locals, then eventually foreign gyals and enjoy life.

or just get a brazzers pass and stream HD porn whole day.

Literally I have a 15mb package I 90% of the time I'm downloading a movie or something, noting spectacular. Cant see myself using a package like that for anything else .

It's better for households with many devices that tend to be online streaming videos, downloading, gaming all at the same time.

It would make uploading and downloading full resolution photos and videos to cloud services like Google Photos, iCloud, DropBox etc much faster and very usable. It would be as if the hard drive were on your network at home. And that is much much safer than keeping your family photos and videos on a flash drive or hard drive in your house with no backup.

Duane knows the scene but that's just the cover story.
What he meant to say was....
"you could watch all the porn online,
Even have multiple computers with multiple porn streams playing at the same time.
You could even put your favorite videos and pictures in a cloud service and watch them as if there on your own hardrive,
much safer no one would be able to see all your porn if they use your computer".

it will take you longer to copy the file to the USB 2.0 drive than it will take you to download it off the internet.

Your connection might be 1Gbit but would the server side be the same? Theoretically it would be faster but I highly doubt in reality it would be.

if only the Upload speed would match the download speed. They currently do/try that at work and boy...

1.3gbps download speed. id run a home webserver, offer webspace and cloud storage services. maybe a couple other internet based services..

then id download all the porn and convert it to hololens format. lol

this is what I have at home, usually faster than this, 100mb/s
take note of the upload, ping usually lower too

I usually stream HD from kodi with no issues, on a few tvs,

this is digicel fiber, I have it at my business place and I used a long distance WIFI antenna to my house which is 1/4 mile away and set up a wireless bridge. Been using this about 5 months now, flawless wifi.
