http://www.trinidadexpress.com/news/Cak ... 37401.htmlTWO men are now in police custody while two others remain hospitalised following a chopping incident in Sangre Grande which began at a birthday party on Saturday night when one of the attendees began throwing cake at other people.
Police said the incident occurred around 11.30.
A group of people was at a house at Oropouche Road in Sangre Grande celebrating the birthday of a man.
As they were getting ready to cut the cake, one of the attendees grabbed a piece of cake and threw it across the table.
This angered one of the other men who grabbed some of the cake as well and threw it back at the initial aggressor.
An argument ensued between the first cake thrower and the other man which then escalated into a full-blown brawl between most of the attendees.
The fight then drifted outside, during which the party-goers began throwing bottles at each other, following which it escalated even further when some of the men went to their cars to retrieve cutlasses.
It was during this stage of the fight that a total of eight people were seriously injured.
