That's no set of speed to slow down from for a speed bump. I assume they put the required signage on each approach to the intersection warning of the speed bumps.

What's the big deal?
So we ignoring the fact that ambulances and police use the bus route....or they have to abide by the speed limit as well

So putting a round-a-bout or mini double round-a-bout will allow them to traverse the intersection at a greater speed?

You are in an ambulance and have severe injuries, you want to be travelling at speed over rumble strips?

Really?

Anyway, take a read to enlighten your ignorance on obeying the speed limit on the nation's roads.

https://tt.loopnews.com/content/not-so- ... eed-limits

Note that there is no law in place allowing emergency vehicles to exceed the posted speed limits. As the Minister of the MOW&T indicated, certain instances will dictate an increased speed. The acceptance of this variance of speed limit is totally at the judge's discretion should an emergency vehicle be involved in an incident and the matter is taken to court.

Nothing was wrong with the intersection in the first place. Drivers in Trinidad and Tobago are just too undisciplined. Sorry, I meant to say that because drivers in T&T know that there is little repercussion for breaking the law, they like to do as they please. In this case, Peter has to pay for Paul and Paul has to pay for all.

Emergency vehicles especially ambulances use the PBR as main road is usually jammed as fk, those speedbumps make no sense. Whats even more senseless is that the drivers that traversing along Macoya Rd still breaking the red and nothing has been out in place to deal with their foolishness

The Macoya Road is already a choke point for the EMR in the AM and PM. Any measures such as speed bumps on it could gridlock the EMR further than it is at the peak times. Besides Macoya Road south bound from the EMR is in a pretty bad shape and anyone speeding on that wouldn't be deterred by humps.

Seeing maxis going on the other lane to avoid the speed humps.
That was not a very good solution

Trinidadians really dont think about their life at all
its a damn good thing you learnt in Regulations that when any form of blockage or partial blockage, pothole, pedestrian, speed bump is on YOUR side of the roadway, you need to slow down and proceed with caution.. here our people seem to think im just going to pull onto the other side ,into oncoming traffic because getting into a head on collision is easier than slowing down and waiting.

roundabouts good up to a certain traffic
they are not a magic solution

after that they grind to a halt
ask anybody who drive in barbados or priceplaza

They could have put a lower speed limit just before the traffic light. If pbr is 65...
Put the limit at 40 or 50 for that zone leading up to traffic light. With a 2 or 3k fine

For one week let them monitor it carefully or put up a speed camera.
After a few tickets share people would learn

speed camera yes. if they wasnt taking on a red light yuh feel they taking on a speed limit sign?

camera and perhaps some mirrors so they the law abiding driver approaching from the side would see and stop. then send the fine with copy of snapshot in mail. arrest warrant & suspension of license if not paid after a certain time.

time to close the PBR. that was a concept for eric when he close the train line. close the PBR and make it a main road heading east and the EMR heads west with a speed limit of 65km/h.

South bound UBH just after Grand Bazaar
Looks like a pickup flipped on its side on the right lane.

Emergency vehicles on-site
No south bound traffic being allowed past at the moment.
North bound rubber necking creating a backup from Caroni exit.

Use alternate routes

maybe, but looks like driver heading south drove around the grooves they cut in the road to act as a speed hump.
driver heading north was not exactly in his lane and was not expecting the opposing car to be totally out of their lane.

long and short is rohani grooves contributed to accident.

Or he was going around a pothole. How the Minister contributed to the accident? It was the jackass Tiida driver and he alone who was speeding and "lost control" and ended up in the other lane.

This is why that place needs a chicane, like the double-roundabout, to slow down stupid jackass drivers who are going to speed and drive recklessly on a straight no matter what measures and signage they use there.

it’s not a pothole, it’s grooves they cut in the road on the southbound side to act as pseudo hump
lot of drivers mistake it for a hole

they need a median with walls in addition to full humps or grooves across the road to keep these animals in check

Passed on the Macoya Rd South Bound yesterday and really?????
The MOWT is cnuts. That stretch of Macoya Road between Back Street and the PBR southbound is so fricking bad and its been so for years now and they couldn't be bothered to fix it but they found resources to come and cut three grooves?
