The road is badly set up yes, but they didnt think the speed limit coming down from 100 to 20kph meant something?

normal lights but that wouldn’t help

you have to remember it’s a long straight before
so many persons like to mash out from long ways as it’s often clear and holding gas whilst steering the slight bend not realizing the end coming up until it’s too late

the issue is the topology encourages speed
just like many persons mash out heading south as the descend the fb overpass and crash by the caroni exit straight section

the problem is they figure out that something by running straight into it

https://azpnews.com/alexander-to-buy-em ... e-stretch/

It stated, “The party intends to purchase at their expense flashing orange emergency roadside lights and barrels to mount them on. These barrels will be coated in reflective day glow material with the words ‘CAUTION’, ‘ROAD ENDS’ and ‘SLOW DOWN’, which will be positioned at alternating intervals on either side of the southbound lanes for the last five hundred meters and on the roundabout itself.”

The PEP stated, “The party insists that the signage that currently exists is practically useless when visible and even less so when covered by the roadside shrubbery, and this lack of urgent caution has led to too many preventable deaths by unsuspecting highway users.”

Isn't this what you may refer to as accident bias knee jerks? I'm not saying that the infrastructure there doesn't need fixing and finishing, but we're seeing less than 5 deadly accidents in the last 3 years in that area. Where speed, no incredibly excessive speed resulted in the vehicle crumpling like a soda can under a truck tire. Ok so what about the thousands, and hundreds of thousands who have passed and manoeuvered there safely over the last 5 years with no incident?

Yes again the exit can be improved. But lights and signs (it already has these) are not going to change a damn thing, just like the reckless speeding drivers at the Macoya crossroad. Drivers need to actually adhere to the speed limit and be aware of what they're doing when operating a vehicle. They can't have lead foot and daydreaming, this isn't a cruising freeway in USA. And at 100km/hr the stopping distance hard on brakes is 73 meters (240 feet). That's less than 100 meters to a full stop from 100 km/hr. From that picture that car was doing well near 180km/hr or so. Not just the engine bay was crumpled, the entire car disintegrated down to the trunk in the back. You want to speed like that, well make sure you have supercar ceramic oversized brakes too.

Drivers. Families of fatalities. Stop looking for scapegoats in incidents like this. Sorry to say, you know who is really to blame. Nothing to say about the disgusting politician vultures who making their name where apt.

correct, indiscipline and reckless speed is the issue
putting flashing lights may only help if they put them from half mile before
putting them on the final straight is pointless

Agreed but does it even have any form of signage ahead? not like anyone reads signs anymore but does it have any?

Some reflective strips on the barriers might make them a bit more visible at night.

Part of the problem is not excess speed but people bad habit of hogging the right lane.

Heading towards that roundabout In debe has a dip in the road.

Depending on the speed and rebound, it's sure contact with those barriers.

Could just be when some choose to brake. It's something I noticed just now.

She's a starfish of she only wanna be under for the entire ordeal.

I saw someone made a vid that the blue car was being considerate and not parking on the road to restrict traffic flow. Such a good person. We need more like them.

The tiida obviously don't understand no means no and went all Rango tango bussing through the barrier to get into the park. Tis the weather, and it done wet.

driver is Nicole Linton, 37 yr old nurse. she is to be charged with gross negligence & vehicular manslaughter.

interesting they can treat an unborn child as a person in these cases as she will face charges for that as well

8.5 months is reasonable to refer to as a person given the circumstances esp in a 1st world country.
