^^^ co-sign.

Brought in some heavy stuff (rotors, tyres, tools, fluids, cast iron pans, etc) from several retailers. Also worked out great for me.

The manager Avin is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Can't say for certain. Brought in maybe about 20 different items, including the tyres, and the final cost was combined for all items.

Didn't ask for a breakdown of the individual charges.

You could send him a link to the tyres you want to buy and he can give you an estimated cost.

Correct - there's a minimum space which you have to take. If it's just tyres alone, that's not enough to take advantage of their sea freight savings.

Hence why I ended up bringing in mines with a lot of other stuff I needed to fill the remaining free space I had.

The heavier the stuff, the more you save, as your only limit is volumetric.

Just using this thread instead of creating a new one...

Can you all recommend a reliable ocean freight company that ships from Miami to Medway in Trinidad?

Most I know of ship to Pt lisas or Piarco.

seabox tt is charging $1020 TT to ship a item that is 60 pounds

Is this good or bad? is justocean it cheaper?

The weird thing is transexpress has a calculator on their website that says it will cost about the same to ship it but how can that be possible? transexpress uses Air as far as I understand..... so how can they charge so cheap?

I dunno how it can be EXACTLY the same price as Ocean if transexpress is using air.

I using Tropical Express Couriers these days ,prices real good compared to all who I used before, and time good too. Real convenient drop off in Miami on 87th (Galloway) and pick up either Curepe or Arouca.
Sometimes according to their space I get special rates on air. Close to ocean prices.

wow very nice

So the address you get from them for Ocean shipping is different from Air? how do you select which shipping method you want? do they ask you or do you pre alert them or something?

^ Thanks man, I emailed them to find out the price to ship something 60 pounds

By chance you don't have an idea how much that would be with them? u ever shipped anything around that weight? if so how much was freight minus the taxes offcourse.

BTW do you have an option to email them the invoice and pre alert your shipment? so customs don't rape me?

Use 6531 for air and 6541 for ocean. When you sign up they will give you a T number and the address.when I go to drop off goods, im there in person so I just tell them.

that price sounds about right for seaboxtt, after my bad experience with them i only ship what i have to with them such as a crib i bought for Black Friday. Paid around ~900 for 50 pounds.

Alright thanks I shall sign up and use tropical express!!!!

I did manage to get an email from justoceanit and their cheapest price is $2000 TT to ship even the smallest item.

So you are right Tropical Express has to be the cheapest

I want to buy some nice floor standing speakers I am saving up for them, since they can weigh up to 60 pounds I will use tropical express. Next time my brother want an item ordered I will use tropical express to test them out then I will order my speakers. They are about $300 USD for a decent pair of floor standing speakers on Amazon or Parts Express

Sea freight becomes economical for the customer when it's 100 lbs and more to ship. Ocean freight is billed by volume with the minimum billable at 50 cubic feet. That's how you're getting those weird numbers for items based on weight with sea shipping. They have to fill an entire container by volume, not weight. A standard 20 foot container can carry about 25 metric tons, so weight is irrelevant.
