To get the most out of it, yes you do need to get the proper chemicals.

You can get the original K'Archer foam gun for pressure washers at Hadden & Co. in El Socorro just off the highway.

hadden is the karcher distributor, their prices a little higher than the retailers
it appears they don't like to undercut the people who retail their products

ramlagans couva has good prices on karcher stuff

If anyone is looking for a foam cannon for the B&D, check SSL. I found a foam gun attachment at Southern Sales Limited that fits it perfectly. The man insisted that it was only for AR Blue pressure washers, but with some research I found that the attachment size fits AR, Black&Decker and Makita electric pressure washers perfectly.

I got the pressure washer at L&G Tool Store, and it was surprisingly cheaper than everywhere else that had it. For instance Allied Home Center had the exact same model for $200 more and Bhagwansingh's for $600 more!

Remember to always use safety glasses and hearing protection when using a pressure washer!
