WTK labour to build hip roofed shed?

Postby drunkenscorpion » November 3rd, 2014, 1:50 pm

I want to construct a 20'x16' shed with a hip roof (metal). Its for an entertainment area I am finishing off. Got quoted 9k intitially, then went down after some bantering to 7.5k labour to construct. Just want to know if this is a good deal?

they supplying all material with that cost i hope.?? if not...sorry..seek someone else. a roof like that shouldnt take more than a week at most.

you can save some of the cost by buying your materials in bulk and painting your I beams yourself.
sand out to remove any rust( oxidation) two coats of red oxide one coat of zinc chromate (yellow) and one coat of industrial grey. - the grey is optional as no one really wants to see yellow I beams.

also for a watertight job there is a can of rubberized spray they use to do on the underside of vehicle wheel wells and such..get about 2-3 cans and every screw hole spray abit to coat the screw head and about 2-5mm around it.

No. I am getting the materials. This is labour only for the full construction from putting down the posts to completing the roof.

my bad..it sounds like you just had the shed already constructed- is just to cover..
if its posts to cast out of concrete and then the floor then the walls( if any) then roof..
price not sounding too bad but it could be a tad better.

if you want to save on costs why not buy readymix concrete?
auger holes for posts dont forget the butt and box up the posts- and relevant beams and prep the floor for concrete as well.
when the readymix truck comes is just to pour for the 4 (or more) posts and spread for the floor. :!:
